Yes I'm sure. Never enough time. Life has a way of that happening.

This person sounds like a nice man who anyone can get along with and it reads as a story with a happy ending. Excellent work! No mistakes found. Thank you for sharing!

I think that both "face" and "place" would be better as plurals. That said, this simple poem of recollection is exceptional primarily because of its sequence of strong images is well-chosen, as are the images themselves. And the conclusion's reiteration of a favorite moment in friendship is especially effective.

I'm so sorry you lost your friend. You were lucky to have had each other and form those wonderful memories. I never had a close friend when growing up, I don't know how that feels. Best of luck in the contest.

This is a well-done poem in honor and memory of your friend Lee. The games you played as young boys were the same games I played many miles away from you, but we only had flat land and no mountains to climb.
I have a friend similar to you. We are both 77. We parted ways at 18 as he left Texas and moved to California for college, marriage, kids, and a career. We talk frequently but have seen each other twice in almost sixty years. He is still as good a fiend as I ever had. Terry.

Lovely tribute to your friend poet. I recognize all of the great games kids used to play in those days.
Nice stanzas in 8/6 which is a great form to use. I love your last two lines the best.

Very nice indeed. I have never had a best friend, just a lot of good friends. Although, I did get in a fist fight with a kid named Lee in the sixth grade arguing about Terry Bradshaw. (The cowboy/Pittsburgh rivalry of the seventies was very real).
Good story. I'm glad you got to reconnect.

Thanks, Doug. I'm a Patriots fan, but I always liked Bradshaw.

A sad tale, neatly contained in unforced rhyme and rhythm. You handle the constraints of the verse very well and this is moving and heartfelt. Thank you for sharing your memories.

A lovely poem. Celebrating a strong child friendship. Not forgotten and living every day in the poets memory. Image very good and good rhyming pattern. Strong contender.
