Another brilliant chapter in the book Four Horse Island. This is guaranteed to be listed as the number one book on a future New York Times best seller list.

All the best,

Eugene

Bet the horses will be glad to eat and maybe get off the ship to get some exercise.
Where were all the people at that we're on the ship? Why was she only one there?why was the poor horses so darn thirsty?were they coming back to retrieve the horses?

    Hi country ranch writer,
I put some notes to indicate what happened in chapters 1 and 2. Thanks for joining chapter 3. To save her time--Chapter 1--Ava Revel finds herself trapped under debris and must work her way out. Chapter 2--she searches the ship she is on to find it has been abandoned. The only indication of life is the neighing she hears in the cargo hold.
    Thanks for dropping by.

This is my first time reading this book; I usually don't begin in the middle of something, but I decided to give it a read. I know very little about what is going on here, but I do know that the narrator has a huge heart when it comes to horses, and her reassuring and warm manner toward them is delightful.

This was flawlessly written, and now I'm hooked:-) Look forward to your next chapter.

    Hi Pam,
Thank for dropping in and for the encouraging comments about the writing.
I put a short synopsis on the post after you reviewed. Just a quick catch up for you so you don't have to open it again:
Chapter 1--Ava Revel finds herself trapped under debris and stuggles to get free
Chapter 2--Ava searches the ship to find she is alone except for neighing in the cargo bay.
    Have a great day.

I wish I knew more about the narrator as I don't even know the name. But I do now know about a childhood experience with horses that makes the narrator perfect for dealing with horses and helping them get off the island. I wonder if the island is deserted...?
I really liked the care the narrator has for the animals and the connection to them.

    Hi Helen,
I put some notes about chapter 1 and 2 on the post. I only mentioned Ava Revel's name once in chapter 2 as she was calling on the radio for help so it would be easy to miss. I'll add the name of the character(s) going forward. Thanks for the observation.
    Have a wonderful day.

Debi,
Hi, you seem to have quite a history with horses. Your character builds a quick rapport with her fellow refugees from the shipwreck. She thinks through whatever she might need to do to help them escape their entrapment.

Your character is very observant of her environment.

Great story,
Rhonda

Wow This was quite interesting. I was at the edge of my seat. Your writing was paced well enough that I was moving along with the action. U thought it was non fiction for the longest time so I had a no way moment and stopped to confirm it was fiction. Very compelling to read. Best wishes!!

Debi, I've been waiting for your next chapter to post and it finally did. You did not disappoint!

With each chapter I get more questions I need answers for. Therefore a good writer as yourself will make a reader (me) wait. The answer will come.

Thank you for posting,
John

Nice horse tale going.
It looks like the horses will soon be fully rescued. But what then, I wonder. Will they own the island? Be uncatchable? Is there fresh water on the island?
Guess I'll just have to stay tuned.

A marvellous episode in your story Debi, you are very clever with your imagination, and you can certainly "spin a yarn" I like this I'm not a horse person, but I am certainly an animal person, and I know a couple of folks who do. This is beautifully written Debi, this is a little different from you normal genre, well done, blessings Roy

    Hi Roy,
Thank you for the encouraging comments. Animals are such a delight to have in our lives. Yep, going out in a different genre while Piper tells me what he wants to do next, if anything.

Yay! I have been waiting for your next installment. I like that you had mentioned the horses in the previous post so this wasn't just a random moment. Now she has a purpose. She has to.take care of these animals. And, I'm sure they will help her at some point, or at least keep her company. This was great. Looking forward to Redington more. Gretchen

    Hi Gretchen,
Your comments warm my heart. I'm glad you liked the foreshadowing in the previous chapter so the horse were not a surprise. Sorry for the delay in response. I've been gone a few days.
