You weren't a bad mother. You were trying to teach her by depicting things that could happen, especially opening the front door. No matter how hard we try, there will always be something we wish we'd done differently.

Thank you. I didn't consider myself a bad mother but I was sorry she was a upset as she was. I hadn't expected that.

Crayfish are good eating if prepared right. I can understand the child's fright. It took a while for me to get use to them and crab legs as well. All in the Sause. Enjoyed another one of your stories.

Thank you, for a great review. I'm sure they taste good if you can get past what they look like. I hear crawfish are popular in Mississippi but all I ever saw were in bogs down in the cow pasture. I'm pleased you honored my post with another six stars.

An enjoyable read, and I bet the memories are everlasting.
As for the skeleton in the boat, didn't Peter Pan had such a scene?
And I loved one line herein especially; " retreating at a speed only impalas are supposed to be able to achieve."

Thank you Tom, Maybe Peter Pan is the answer. She probably did see that movie. I'm glad you liked my story. She turned out to be my most caring child after a very stormy series of teen years.

"one of twins" should be one of the twins.

"babysitters" should be babysitter's.

Mud bugs are delicious! However, must suck their heads to eat them properly.

Connie seemed like quite an individual with her own unique personality. Sure you remain proud of her to this day.

Thanks. I realize the mud bugs have caught on as a fool item. Maybe they always were in some places. Some people eat roaches and cats but I'll pass. LOL Thanks for catching the spags.

This is a sad story that you told us about Connie and her reaction to various things I understand completely. You're trying to be a good mother by trying to help her overcome her fears. Anybody who would call you a bad mother because you were doing the Sam's has never really been a good bother themselves. This morning I got a video of my little great granddaughter, who will be three in February as she was singing herself to sleep last night. It was so precious. Patricia.

Thank you Pat, I'm sure no matter how hard we try. kids have so many new things they face in this world they are bound to find some of them frightening. I remember scary moments from my own life. Thank for sharing about your ggranddaughter. That is adorable.
