Yes, It is nice when I can dream about those who have gone on before me. That is almost everybody. All of Jim's family has passed on and I only have my brother left from my family. My generation, our generation. Now my two children have passed and I have my one daughter, Nancy Jean and her husband here with me. Thank God for them. This is touching. Jameson and Iris need each other at this stage of their lives. The Lord provides. Good job, Gretchen. Nancy:).

I like your story so far and I really relate to it different ways. I relationship she was establishing, and I thought you had an honest portrayal of how an aging woman might feel. Excellent! Best wishes!

Having attained a certain age this chapter resonates with me. The pace is good. The images are clear. The language is like talking to a friend. The narrative stays on point. A poignant read.
Suggestion:
." I'm certain of that. I know I haven't know him but a few weeks but he's like family to me now."
You need to change haven't know to haven't known.
Thanks for a wonderful read.

I like this very much. It works on many levels. I do think, however, you should spend more memory time on the photos. Her remembering whole scenes even. It is a good excuse for character building. She could find a photo of herself young, then look in the mirror and say the line about never believing they would replace their parents. It's just a suggestion, but I do think it would fit in very well and your audience would sympathize.
It is really good however, so don't feel you have to do what I suggest. I just think that could really be a heartwarming moment. Photographs are so useful to build character.
