Another fascinating read, beautifully written with only a couple of commas needing to be taken out before 'and' (this is a joining word anyway) - paras beginning "There was only one person..." and "I finally managed..." Well done, Beth! A cliff -hanger as well! Take care Debbie

You certainly have had an active, interesting life, Beth. It must have been scary to be locked in the factory. New Orleans has to be an exciting place to live. Thanks for sharing it with us. Nancy:)

Thank you for anotherr nice review. I don't think my live is more interesting than most but I did seem to get in trouble a lot.

Wow Beth. Now that's a harrowing chapter. The first thing that comes clear is how at every event or turn it is clearly a melting pot of America unlike any other. And it also seems they love to find ways to celebrate every week! You gave this image of you trying different ways to get out. It must felt almost like a haunting, being trapped for hours.

Thank you for the great review and espicially for the six stars. Yes, I might not have been in real danger in the old building but being trapped there for hours really got to me.

That must have been really frightening to be locked in like that. Thank goodness, you got out safe and sound. I'd be looking for another job, too. Unloading the old house and finding a new one can be nerve wracking.

You did a great job, Beth, with this story. I laughed
about the throwing of cabbages and other veggies from
the floats. You described the celebrations well. I could
picture the parades and all of the activities involved.
What a scary experience to be locked inside that old
building alone. I'm glad you found another job soon after.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

Thank you Jan, I appreicate the great review and I enjoy reading your comments. The St Patrick parades were always a lot of fun. I wonder with the price of groceries up if they still throw our vegetables at the parades.

That's what I admire about you! Even though you were brought up in such a small town in the country, you are so broadminded and made friends with all kinds of people from different cultures and backgrounds. So glad that you Cuban co-worker could help you!!

Thank you, Helen. I've always been facinated by other cultures. Even in my little country town, we had a two=year Baptist ministerial college which recruited students from all over the world, and I had some exposure back then to different nationalities.
