Congratulations on reaching that milestone. I wish you much success on it. What makes writing worthwhile is finding readers and have the pieces attain new life through them. I am still editing my novel, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, but maybe someday I'll get it out there, probably through Westbow. estory

Hi estory, thank you for the lovely congratulations, I'm sure you will, just get it done. Put everything else aside for a week or two, and concentrate on your finished novel. I'll be the first in line to buy it. I agree with you about the readers. It's a wonderful thought as well to see you book being bought in other countries by people you don't know and will never meet. Thank you so much, Dolly. I get such a buzz when I hold my book. I was strictly a children's poet when I joined here, then I went on to other styles of poetry. Congratulations, Sandra. Your advice to newbies is solid. Though I would caution them to chose their FS mentors carefully. It's easy to get lulled into a sense of complacency if one isn't careful.

That's a good point. I think once you start listening, and reading the revies, you will see which are good ones. I know some who like to think they know it, but they don't. But I couldn't put that down, lol! Thank you, my friend. I think the majority of my sales come from family and friends. I'm not good at promoting, and I don't like FB, but I'll give that one a go. Yeah, I know you can't tell the whole truth about reviewers. But anyone who sticks around for a while figures it out.
Oddly enough for this ex-adman, I don't care to self-promote, either. I joined FB about fifteen years ago, but still don't understand why.
Truthfully, I don't have enough friends and family to make self-publishing a viable idea.
But Amazon is a big marketplace and unexpected things happen.

You should put your story on here, I have found 99.9% of my readers were very helpful. Some put me down, but my hubby said not to take notice of that one, concentrate on the helpful, positive reviews which far outweighed the few. Which I did. Go for it! Thank you, Kay, for the congratulations, I appreciate that. It was a bad time, but I'm almost over it. I have a hospital appointment on the 21st of this month where they are going to do some tests on my lungs. My asthma and the 3 bouts of Covid has done me no favours.
