It is very sad that you were bullied for your stature and I am glad that you did not let it bother you at first and this is something that would not be tolerated in today's school as it is not teasing, it is bullying. It sounds like you have no trouble standing up for yourself Yvonne, good for you you and thank you for sharing this story about your childhood years, I love your picture too, very pretty girls here, love Dolly x

I can see we are all going to have to be very careful not to rile you ad the decadecdrraws to a close. I wonder sometimes if school is any safer these days. Yes that bullying was horrible but the bullies didn't resort to carrying guns on the campus as they seem so often to do today.

No, I was never in any danger, and this was elementary school. In those days, there was never violence in schools. No one ever thought of doing such things. Occasionally, an after school "fight" between boys.

Temper tantrum. That is what I heard it called. Can not blame you. I thought about Audie Murphy and his size and how the Marines would not take him. He became the most highly decorated soldier of ww2. Never know about the thing. Dynamite comes in small packages.

Yes, I find the story to be interesting because I was just like you. I could not stand by and watch someone else be bullied or teased to the extreme so, I got in a lot of fights and I was not very big either. In Grade School I earned the nickname "Prizefighter". Good job. Nancy:)

Yes, you experienced bullying, not teasing, and you were made a victim by those whose power came from being in a group. I hope that man learnt a lesson that day you took him on. Usually they are pretty cowrdly when called out.

I only realized I was little after I left the mainland. Among a group of Asians, I'm small but not unusually small. So it was something to get used to as an adult. But you had to learn to defend yourself early on and in the process you built up compassion and courage!
