I mourn the loss of my sister, my mom, my dad, and my daughter, plus so many more. I do not cry because, I have read in the scriptures that God remembers everyone born, he holds them in his vast memory, and he longs to see them alive again. The day will come when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out alive. I long for and look forward to that day. As I totally believe that, I do not fear the eventuality of my own death, or the death of any one I love.

Very good indeed. This had excellent flow and for some reason I could hear a fruit beat to it in my head as I read it. That may just be because I am crazy though?
I liked this one. It was most enjoyable. Just one question: Who's Carlos?

Lol a fruit beat? Please elaborate. Maybe i can use this in my next poem, "The Canteloupe Caper". For the answer to question #2, see "Carlos Means Free Man", conveniently located under "C" in my portfolio.

Fun beat. Got spell checked. Ha!
-
Oh lol that is funny Douglas. I was like " Fruit beat? What's that?" Lol

This is a very moving poem although I'm not sure if there is an extra layer of meaning I'm missing.
I found your choice of name (a Spanish one) very intriguing. That was what drew me to your poem in the first place. I had a brother called Carlos who died as a baby.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh. That is just my pen name lol.
-
I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. My sister Joan died also as a baby. She was born premature and was taken ill.
-
My brother had Down syndrome and was very sick. x
-
Oh Heather I am so sorry. That is such a shame. I know when my sister Joan died it was hard for my mom. She was her first child.
-
Losing a child must be terrible.x
-
I think so, yes. My mom said she was at the hospital in a waiting area when she felt a presence standing behind her. Then she heard a voice say " I have taken her. She is with Me".
-
I wrote a short nonfiction story about it called "Mount Caramel Cemetery: The Story of Joan". It is in my portfolio under nonfiction stories.
-
Wow!
-
I'll look for it when I have the time.

This is a very sweet, sad poem about your mom, silently but faithfully mourning the loss of her husband. I loved the picture of the beautiful old cemetery.
The rhyming is perfect and the meter too, except for one line (2nd from the end). To maintain the dit-dit-da, dit-dit-dit-da beats of the third line in each stanza, you might try: "Soon she knew they'd reunite". Jim

I made that change Jim. I thank you. Now the metre is right.

at least there is hope at the end of life's rainbow. May it be true, and yet if not I lived my life glad for the thought rather than sad like Scrooge. ...................................................

I found the author's words expressed with sincere love. I also found
the poem heartfelt, descriptive and creative. I found the author's words
convey a deep belief in the afterlife. The poem flows and connects well.
The artwork goes well with the words of this poem.

This is a beautiful review. I wrote this poem about my mom. She was the widow described. She is gone but of course she lives in my heart and my thoughts.
Im so glad to make your acquaintance here at Fanstory.

This was a lovely poem. It reminded me of my mom when my father died many years ago. She was only 49 but stayed a widow and never remarried until she passed away at 78 years old. She was just waiting to reunite with her husband on the other side. Beautiful and sensitive. Gretchen

This poignant poem reminds me of my ex-husband's grandmother. Her husband died at thirty five and she raised her two children on a teacher's salary. She never remarried and she never dated anyone. She passed away at eighty eight. A long time to grieve.

That is so young to lose her husband. Very sad. My father died at age 62. So my mother was not as devastated.
Thank you for reading Mary.

You are welcome.

Hello, Judith,
A very heartfelt and moving offering.
I appreciate the keen emotive imagery and the paucity of words you employed.
Matter of fact, yet filled with emotion.
Thank you for sharing!

I love this poem about mourning your mother. I can relate although my mother was a classic difficult person to deal with but I still love her nonetheless.
