This poem essays to be ironic in catching the January 6, 2021event in a photo and a 5-7-5 poem. 'Mob' is a tricky word to use a verb with, since depending upon the word's context it can be singular or plural; I tend to think that the 1/6/21 mob was one mob, and the verb should be 'was,' but it's tricky.
Anyway - I don't think this effort captures the mockery it aspires to embody, and I think that the chosen photographs of Josh Hawley were not clearly evidence of either cowardice or foolish bravado.

Okay, I can see your point with mob. It's a collective noun for a group, so I will change it to was. You would be hard pressed to capture the mockery of anyone in 15 syllables. You made some valid points. Thanks for the review.

I agree. In a poem that brief, it is hard to make acute descriptions.

Thanks!

Felix sit Novus Annus! I don't know what punctuation Latin used

Happy New Year to you too!

Well said!
If you have the idea and believe in something - especially something so definitely defiling our country - then have the courage to stand among those you incite and face the consequences. He definitely ran!

This is a well written poem with the required 5-7-5 syllables per line. However, I think that some people may not quite get what you are on about. Certainly those who are not au fait with American politics will wonder. Despite that, this is a clever idea for a poem so good luck with it.

I tried to explain a bit in the AN. Perhaps I need to write more. Thanks for the review.

This 5-7-5, Run, Josh, Run, has the proper formatting and mocks this Republican representative as he is seen during the January 6 attack on democracy as a conspirator with second thoughts for his own safety.

Thank you for your review. It does relate to the old saying..."be careful what you wish for".

I have no idea who this guy is, but he must be an American? Perhaps a note would help? We can run away for our responsibilities but when we wake up in the morning, they are still there to haunt us, love Dolly x
