I've always had this image of God as a jolly old man. I see him having a great sense of humor. He'd have to, right? Lol. This did show the many ways that people describe God. Great job with this. Gretchen

Gretchen, I couldn?t agree more! He has to have great joy and give great joy. I should have included that! Thank you for the reminder and review, my friend!

Some serious questions posed here about the reality of God- questions we probably all ask from time to time- lots to reflect upon here and an opportunity to reflect on our own belief system

This is a well-conceived poem. The font size is great. The visual fits well. I like how you began with human doubt and disdain for God, and then begin quoting various bits of scripture to tell what he is. Your poem teaches but do not preach. That is a great way to pique the interest of doubters. Your last two lines are stellar. Ultimately, it is up to each individual to make a choice and answer the question for him or herself.
You, mystery writer gets my first six for this new week.

Sandra, I am thunderstruck! What a wonderful six star review. Your comments on the poem are equally cherished. You definitely got the message of the poem! I really wanted to bring the reader to make a choice for themselves. They are the only who can. Thanks for understanding!

You are welcome. It is a well-done poem on a topic that people have strong feelings one way or the other. You left it up to the reader, and that's what I liked. Impressive on the sections of the bible for reference too.

Thank you, again. I?m glad you liked my choices on the verses!

Thank you for this great poem. It is evident it comes from a heart that knows the King personally. It is also well written - not making a decision for the reader but bringing them to the edge of their own decision about the one who spoke those words long ago. "Whom do you say that I am?'
I like that the first stanza reveals all the mish/mash faith has endured and yet continues to ask that question.

Your well-written, thought-provoking poem is vividly descriptive and realistic, conveying a powerful message about WHO people say He is.
Happy to say I accepted long ago who He really is and who His Son is--my Savior. (life every lasting~~should be life EVERlasting)

This free verse, What Do You Say I Am?, brings God to the personal level and asks us directly if the God that we see and know, is the one we talk about to others.

While democracy is falling apart, we still have hopeMan was always meant to live in a world of a benevolent, righteous, sole ruler, God Himself, democracy works well when a nation allows God be the head of it, but falls into chaos when He isn't. Beautifully written my friend, great free verse, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. It's a simple poem, but expresses my feelings. I hardly ever write free verse, but it was the only way I could get my point across.
-
Well done, I?m not biased, rhyme or free, it?s all about language and phrasing.
-
Good point.

Yep, the ?experts? on form are wrong.
