Wow, loved this biography, Terry! And I loved your humor about the unopened sardine can not being brought while he was studying art. But what a shocking story about the maggots and the leeches. I still think the raw chicken could have killed him. But what a surprise that the doctor really did try to save his life! I wish you had entered this into the Nonfiction writing contest!

Thank you, Helen. I have Standing Ovations in the nonfiction contest. I have one more story, Dyess Air Force Base, I think it is really good. I will post it later in the week or early next week. It will be my last story. I hope you get a chance to read it. Thank you for all your support. Terry.

This is an informative piece, Terry. I've heard about maggots eating away the dead flesh. It made me cringe. Unfortunately, I read this before bed. I'll thank you in advance for the nightmares, lol. Great write my friend.

Thank you, John. I am sorry about the nightmares! I have one more story written, Dyess Air Force Base. It does touch on WWII, but no nightmares. I will post it later in week or early next week. I think it is really interesting and one of the better writes for me. It will be my last story. I hope you get a chance to read it. Terry.

I am going to stop writing. I will do a few reviews, and what I think of as "Scholarship Pumps" for some writers that helps to get their work promoted. I have done some of that and it's cool that they get recognized and some even get to all-time best status.

That's very cool. Are you going to be able to stay away from writing?

John, I am old, LOL, getting up is a challenge! Terry.

One of the current scholarships is for Sam Duck, Inconviet Truths, a satire that is pretty good. I don't think she ever had more than four reviews before. She has some of the best writers on the site reading her now, but I am anonymous. Terry.

I have to give this my 6 star rating for this week. I love the storytelling in this work. I experienced so many emotions reading about David and his life, even though you don't really talk about emotion. But believe me, it was there. An important story to tell. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this interesting story. Very well written. I especially like the part about what the Doctor did to David was meant to destroy him, but instead as what kept him alive. God works in mysterious ways.

This was excellent Terry. Just enough information to be useful without being distracting.

The different scenes and situations allowed to experience a variety of emotions about David; some good, some bad, all compelling.

There were a couple words words used close enough together to appear redundant.. it wasn't enough to distract from the story however and was easy to ignore.

( "story" in the 2nd paragraph and "sardines" in the 6th.)

David's statement about "never hating another person again" threw me off a little.. but again, it didn't distract from my impression of the story overall.

Excellent work Terry!

lol did you notice that Freudian slip Terry? I wrote "words" twice immediately before pointing out a redundancy.. This is now a case of the "pot calling the kettle black" lol

This is a captivating story about a young man who lived an extraordinary and adventurous life. Most people in your life are there for a reason, as was proven by the meeting of Ted Keck, who had David's life spared. You can learn a lot on FanSltory. Thanks for sharing this valuable bit of information.

An artist-painter whose life has ever been influenced and patronized with the parental and family ideology and spiritual dimensions has shown his conception and perception and identification through his art and artistic expression; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers. Wow, what a story. The notes were helpful in understanding the theme of the painting. It's incredible how he endured so much torture, and yet still lived. Powerful courtroom scene where the doctor explained the treatment. It is a story that will remain in my memory - you have written it so well, and with skill. Well done.

Thank you so much for sharing the art and incredible story of this incredibly gifted man!

As part Algonquin I hold great value in all aspects of Native American artifacts and art.

The horror of his experience at Dachau is beyond inhumane.Incredible how his torture was his salvation...

Did you know he was a poet as well? Please check out this link ...I know you will find his poetry moving!

How can I give this anything less than six stars? What an amazing story and what an incredible outcome. As hard as it was to read of the horrible things he endured, what a beautiful story it is.
I don't know what else to say, except thank you for sharing this. I hope to always remember it.
