What a lovely story, and could feel every ounce of his love and regard in that one gesture, one always wants the approval of his dad, and in that he showed how much, I've always been aware as a parent how important that was. Beautifully written, a most enjoyable post, well done, blessings Roy

Thank for those kind words Roy.
I started writing this when he was in a ?Memory Unit? as a way of dealing with his situation. I wish he had been able to read it. Now, he?s gone.
Blessings,
J.P.

This story nearly made me cry - so beautiful and somehow painfully familiar. You do not only write graphically, so that everything in my head is painted - you also write with a touch of emotion that dives deeply. I can feel the passion you had for planes and flying as if it was my own, I love that you remember everything in details - about the way you spoke as a teen, what kind of aircrafts were there and how they function, how Neil smiled and so on... It speaks a lot on how precious this story is for you.
You caught my attention right form the beginning and even though I have a movie running in the background, I was totally consumed by what I was reading further.
I loved the introduction from childhood, the closure with the five dollars... I just love the way you write. You've gotten yourself a new fan. Thank you for sharing this beautiful memory with us!
