This is a well told story, Earl. It gives me a lot more insight to your Army days and some skills involved. Motivation is an interesting thing: in your case being underestimated fired you up to excel. That older NCO did you a favor. Being an Eagle Scout provided a good background (my Dad was a troop leader and i spent a lot of time with him and the boys when i was young camping and hiking.)
