I guess I have less faith in mankind. Giving a high-five
to a total stranger sounds nice, but I'm sure some would respond with a )fist of five( ...Why take the risk? ...even on a dare.

Lobber, my friend, yes , I agree in the states we would likely get arrested for being an aggressive progressive..

Excellent response to the challenge of writing a fifteen minute free verse. You stayed well within the logic of your thesis and expanded it from internal thoughts of dissatisfaction into one of helping one's neighbours--an all too rare experience these days.

This is a fabulouos free verse penned in 15 minutes. It certainly captures the frustration many are feeling these days at the restricted way of life we've been subjected to by ths virus. How nice it would be when we can hug one another again without fear. Meanwhile, a smile and a nod will have to do. Maintaining a positive attitude would go a long way in refreshing our mental state...take a breath and relax.

This is a solid free verse piece, I think there are some solid rhymes and alliterations peppered throughout that help it to flow smoothly. Good work and good luck in the contest. Thanks for sharing. Later daze.

I have exhaled toxic air with tears that filled the sky, author. I've been sad, hiding behind a mask. I cannot do anything right if everything I do is wrong. Yet, you are right. My mind has become befuddled with life's drama, but it should not bring me down. I shall fight the good fight even if I'm feeling down. I"ll bring a smile from a frown with words of happiness from my heart. Thank you so much for sharing a smile with me. :)

The message in your poem about wanting a fresh breath by being nice to another person, high five a stranger or if you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours! Just thinking about someone else can put you in a better mood! AKA a fresh breath! A great subject to have used for your poem!
