Chapter 31 is AWESOME, Cathy and Bill. It was well worth the wait since last posting. Your information about the nearness of publication was exciting news. I am so proud to have followed this novel from the beginning and will til the end. Then, I will buy a hard-back edition of it!
The synopsis from last chapter positioned readers well to read further. I like the font size and style of it. The introduction with BILL in bold capitalized letters is a great addition. I like the idea this format will appear on other chapters.
From the first sentence, readers felt the intensity of the situation in Bill's speech and actions. They could tell he was agitated and wanted to get to Cathy and the twins ASAP. The friendly banter between Bill and Colonel Rose belied the anxiety Bill was experiencing. However, it added to the flavor of his, and Colonel Rose's down-to-earth Tennessee roots. Bill's new assignment, while allowing him to stay close to family, is heart-wrenching. His Colonel knew how much it would mean to Bill and what a thorough job he would do. I believe that kind of assignment would take someone with great knowledge in protocol along with awesome patriotism.
The plane trip home was well described. Once Bill is at the hospital, he relaxed a bit when seeing Cathy and Grandpa and Grandma although the life and death struggle of the little twin girl baby weighed heavily on his heart. The inclusion of prayin' for her is forefront. I love the way you always bring faith into the picture in such a profound way. The selection of names for the twins was handled well--love the significance of both names. Billy, Jr. and Angel were perfect. The references to the Kennedy baby was poignant along with the moving videos at the conclusion. Their inclusion helps ground this chapter in time and place along with what is happening in real time to Bill, his family, the USA, and the world. All the historical references/videos add depth to the story and make it real. Hopefully, ths isn't a premonition of what is to come in the next chapter.
The cliffhanger was great to draw readers back for the next chapter. I can hardly wait to find out the Colonel's news and more about Angel. I wanted to continue reading on and on and. . . .! As always your book cover, research, and video clips were perfect.
I can hardly wait for the next chapter.

Though I'm not familiar with the story as a whole, I like to think I'm pretty good with my dialogue and that's what I enjoyed most about this chapter. The dialogue is well done and fits the time period. Good work here and thank you for sharing, later daze.
