Heavy duty. Dark background for Mckenzie and her mother, and kidnappers from a gang and maybe even someone on the police force. As in your previous stories I've read, you are still slinging the mud to hit just about everywhere. LOL. Great chapter, and thanks for sharing.

Well you sure have spun this thing into several avenues but I am deafened by wedding bells. What a story. You and Sally Law have the floor with mysteries. Good one Barb. Always a pleasure reading your work.

Now we know why Mac has been upset about drinking. I'm wondering if the person who had whisky poured down her throat knew it, too. I'm glad it's all out, she will be able to move on now. Good for her mother, too!! I'd have killed the blighter a lot more painfully than that!
Now to get some proof about this policeman that's involved. I'm hoping it's not Samuel Conley. Well done, an excellent chapter. I like that name, too! :)) Sandra xx

It's good continuation. This is a another good chapter with Mac waking up. I'm not sure about missing pieces. Perhaps, that reader was worried about hings slowing down.
notes:
A Sidney's name has come up but there's [no] proof they're the same person.
- i think a missing word here.

I like the title "missing pieces." That's something they could work with for a book cover. This is bringing things to a conclusion very nicely. I had suspected something like that in Mac's background. There must have been a coverup, understandably, of what her mother did. The abuse has been something she can't let go of. Now if they can get the goods on Parks, if he's the ringleader. Now I'm beginning to think he's not the one after all. the tattoo Mac remembers should be of help. Logan's team did a great job of rescuing Mac and the other women. Excellent dialogue.

You're welcome. You're doing a great job of keeping the suspense going. You chose a great time for your reveal about grandfather. judi

Yup, I like the idea of the chapter's name because it looks exactly like a puzzle that she tries to put it back together. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Best chapter ever. Sad, deep, and suspenseful. This really painted a good picture of Mackenzie and all she has been through. What a sweetheart. Logan, too. I hope they form a tight case against this guy. It sounds like it's a human trafficking ring they got going here. Superb. Sending you my best day as always,
Sally xoxo

I love this. especially how the characters interact with each other. Mac and Logan are so cute together. This could definitely be a TV show one day. A title suggestion... The Maze of Puzzles (maybe)

This is a very exciting story to read, and I look forward to more chapters. McKenzie is a tough character and really knows her mind. Logan is a good match for her.
Typos:
A Sidney's name has come up but there's (no) proof they're the same person.
He used this (his) thumb to dry a tear. "It's okay. Nobody expected you to."

This is a very captivating story that held our attention throughout, our eyes and brains were eagerly pursuing every line. We were so disappointed to get to the end. We can't wait for the next chapter.
