First--congratulations on your sobriety! Amazing accomplishment and keep it up! You will though--God will see to it. How timely this poem is with the George Floyd killing and all of the divisiveness so many cling to because of the amount of melanin in their skin...that is all it is...it's what somehow convinced white men that brown and black men ought to be dragged from their continent and enslaved here. Now we are left with four centuries off bigoty and inequality to correct. God help us all...it is time to embrace one another as the universal brothers and sisters we are!--Karenina

Amen! There should be no hatred in anyone's heart--especially the heart of a Christian. I think the root of the problem is that, when Christians have strong negative feelings against others, often with no strong reason, they will NOT face the fact that they HATE--will not admit it. They ignore the Scriptures that accuse them! This piece is a moving and descriptive, Bible-based commentary on the disease of hatred.

This is eight stanzas of hope in Jesus Christ. It would, of course, be nice to apply such principles. I like how you point out that all people could be our friend, although of course one might have to avoid rattlesnakes. Favorite part: That person you hate,
Jesus died for them too,
and for not even a moment,
has Our Risen Savior,
ever stopped loving you!
Nice share.

Yes, any time of hate or discrimination is bad. It should be removed from the world completely. That, sadly, is hard. We have to change the haters one at a time.
In ths last stanza's fourth line I think 'in' should be 'is'.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Hello Fonda Little,
Nice piece of Spiritual Poetry meeting the desired norms, having lucid wording, smooth flow from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting to follow the path shown by Jesus for eliminating hatred and planting love in the hearts of our fellow beings.
These lines are particularly noteworthy:
"He died on That Cross,
for all of our sins,
and so we wouldn't,
treat one another,
like they treated Him!"
Picture enhances depth and beauty of the poem.
GOOD LUCK in the contest.

Hello, Fonda
I'm a new 88year old kid on the block, and read your work for the first time this evening. First, let me congratulate you for writing so wisely on this topic - how I wish the world's occupants would wake up to this urgent need. The Blessings I have been given, especially recently, (my dear husband passed over 20th May this year) have helped me cope with the enormous life change. I've been watching and hearing about all these demonstrations and instances of hate, and it has made the life change much worse. But like you, He has my faith and I am strengthened. Thank you for writing such meaningful poetry, and congratulations for the well-deserved accolades.

Blessings my friend. This poem speaks the truth about man, whom God created in His own image. We are all one race, the human race, though the color of our skin is different, we all share the same blood which flowed through the veins of the first man and first woman, Adam and Eve. Satan wants to divide and conquer, Jesus came to redeem us and he prayed that we be one in him as he and the Father are one. Unity in Christ is the key to victory over hate and destruction.

A healthy mind does not speak ill of others; agree whole heartedly with the sublime message in your poem. With due respects, you posted this for a Rhyming poem contest, but there's not enough rhyming, you may want to take a look at that. Good luck!
