This part made me laugh, good excuse for using the old habit of one thing at a time :"I'm sorry I can only talk to one of you at a time. Too many voices seem to make my head hurt.'
It was the leader who replied again, while the other three stayed quiet. 'It was foolish of us to have expected you to cope. We are collectively sorry. Do you still feel pain?'
Thank you for sharing and good luck with your next chapter.

LOL!! Of course, nerdy people already had to know the fathom thing for other nerdy stuff... :) :) :) But, hooray for tidbits!! :) :) A wonderful installment, Sandra -- So, they're kinda like the mermaids of some legends that have legs sometimes..? Either way, cool! And the telepathy thing definitely worked out (love how Herbie gets a bit 'annoyed' at times)... ;) Looking forward to the next one, my lady! ;) :) Yvette

Sandra,
How interesting! Isn't it cool what you discover as you research - AND don't you wish you could include so much more of it all in the books??
hahaha This was fun! Thanks!

I think the research is my fun parts, I do find out some incredibly interesting, if not exactly useful, facts. Lol, it's nice to pass them on. I've been invited to my grandson's school to read the first book in the series, how cool is that?? My grandson, Eric, is chuffed to bits. Now I have to practice all the different voices. How to speak like a drone! Hmm. Thanks, Robyn. Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I like this one as well! Eric and the aqua-beings trying to learn what they can about each other! And you are right as well...that kind of conversation flooding a person's mind all at once can make us go crazy! I am really liking where you are going with this and just how you established they are in-fact aliens! And perhaps the last twist is about mermaids!

Thank you, Aaqib, for your continued support, I really appreciate what you have to say in your reviews. I'm glad you enjoyed this part, but there are still more surprises for Eric later in the story. Thanks, my friend. Big hugs, Sandra xxx

Hi Sandra. You have to have a great imagination in order to be able to write this kind of story with the amount of detail you have included.
Even with the amount of detail you have included, the story is very readable, and most of all, understandable. Taking complex ideas and making them easy to understand is a gift.

What a lovely thing to say, thank you so much, Robert. I have to keep them simple, but exciting as well for my grandson, seeing he's the 'hero'. lol. I've been asked to read the first book in the series to the children at his school, so I have a bit of rehearsing to do! Wish me luck. Thanks for this lovely review, my friend. I do appreciate it. Big hugs, Sandra xxx

Nice taletelling, adventure sometimes brings in more surprises, beyond expectation, for action for living is stranger than fiction, he could not discover the words and get into the meaning, but nightmare is interesting, well said, well done.

I'm very glad no one can read my thoughts. =] And it is no doubt a good thing I can't read others thoughts. This is another fun adventure. Looking forward to what's next. Rox

I'm glad they got it all worked out and that Eric can communicate with them without being hurt by all the chatter. I bet that was a shock seeing a mermaid in real life. Your chapter is well-written, very interesting start to finish, of course. I look forward to reading more.

A fascinating chapter with much believable detail to make the science fiction aspect more authentic. No nits that I can see, but I did wonder if 'indicated towards' might be better expressed more simply.
I love the origins of the units of imperial measurement - so much more interesting than metric! I used to entertain my maths classes with them when long division was getting too depressing! I also liked the inch, the length of the king's thumb joint - that had to be changed to three grains of barley when a new king came along with a smaller hand! LOL

I love that, the three grains, LOL!! Thanks so much for the six stars, tony, and for the suggestion about the 'indicated towards'. I've changed it to, pointed towards, now. Yes, I agree, simple is better, especially for the real Eric. :)) How the editing coming on? Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx
