You must have lost the love of your life sometime ago. This poem expresses the feelings you have; what a beautiful poem in memory of the one that has angel wings.

A "SALUTE," Rosemary! Thanks for the review/support. Yes, I lost my angel in August of 2016. Best wishes for an awesome weekend and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration, Bill

This poem was very beautiful and heartfelt. The reader can really feel the love behind each and every word. It even brought tears to my eyes. It also flowed very nicely, with great imagery and word choice.

Hi Commando, This is a lovely and very heartfelt Free Verse. It's easy to see how much you loved your wife. The only thing I wish you had done a little differently is to make the print larger. I'm a little blind! LOL

I don't have a six left, Bill, but this deserves one. This is a lovely tribute to your late wife, I'm sure she is close by, just waiting. It's so hard to live without the one you love, but, as you say, Someday, and you will. Good luck in the contest, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I love this. My husband isn't a writer but he's the best thing that ever happened to me and even if he can't write it down he shows me how much he loves me every day. We all need to find this kind of love. I love this so much

Powerful free verse poem dedicated to your wife. I am giving you a virtual six stars on this one. Good luck in the contest. It looks like a winner. I have experienced the excruciating pain of losing an angel to cancer. You have expressed genuine love very well.

Since I am currently running a class on the subject of free verse I decided to trawl through the entries of this convenient contest to see what Fanstorians are making of this most difficult of forms.
Many think that because it is free it should be easy with no need to bother about rhyme or metre or any of the other difficulties that beset formal verse, the the fact is that without the disciplines of form it is often hard to make the poem 'sing', and poetry needs to sing. This one does and what helps its song is the use you have made of rhyme, internal rhymes used at random throughout the poem.
If I have a criticism it would concern the layout, which is a little 'blocky' for my taste, but I appreciate that you were somewhat hamstrung by the requirement of a maximum of twenty lines. Shorter lines which might be more inviting would have set you over the limit.

To me the prompt here is far too regimented, however I do like what you've cheekily done in terms of irregular but nevertheless present internal rhyme. It's almost a thumbed nose to the prompts.
Good on you.
The poem itself is very sweet as it should be for the topic chosen. I wouldn't dare try to alter a single word - each clearly important to your lovely dedication to your wife. I didn't use a fine-toothed comb but you seem to have satisfied the parameters. Good luck with it.

Hello, Bill! As to the "Prompt" being too regimented--"Your opinion, not mine!" Cheekily done? Again, "Your opinion!" The sponsor of this "Free Verse" is an angel and awesome writer. Having said this, I "SALUTE," you for the kind words you did write. Best wishes for an awesome weekend and God Bless. Respectfully, Bill (Commando).

Oh, my goodness, what a lovely, heart-felt tribute to what surely must be an amazing woman. Such exquisite, romantic imagery. You two are blessed! Thanks for opening up your heart to share this artful tribute. Happy Ventines to you both and good luck in the contest. I failed to give you a star rating when I first reviewed this. Good luck in the contest :)

What a beautiful Valentine to your Valentine! Such a pretty poem and the picture with it goes perfectly. The whole time I was reading this, it reminds me of the poem (of course, I don't know the name of it LOL)
"How do I love thee, let me count the ways"
Have a great day!
