My son wanted to serve, and I said a resounding no. I now feel guilty. My reasons were he had just married, and trying to provide. I was like, the time for the army was before marriage. But still. I wasn't willing to sacrifice, so well done to those who do!

Hi Darlene! Marriage can be before, during or after military service. I think the only major requirement is that you must be 32 years old or under to enlist. Check with your local recruitment office for more details. You're nice. Thank you :)

Well, he's now 39. This was 10-12 years ago.
