I count 5-7-5 syllable lines as per writing prompt entry requirement. The first two lines compliment each other well, and the last empathic line gives a new meaning. Great job! Beautiful artwork choice for theme.

PenPal: what an adorable pup. I love the tenderness of Jesus.
I'm sure that God is watching over many loved pets up in Heaven.
Seems like pups find the perfect owners. I have two dogs that
I walk. God bless. flylikeaneagle

Your poem is brief and to the point. It says a lot
in a few words. It has a lot of meaning to me
and I am glad I stopped by. Thanks for sharing.

There is nothing in God's creation as loyal as a dog if you ask me, and your poem touches me deeply. Canines truly are Man's best friend, and I love how you say it! Best of luck in the contest.

This post must be for a blind contest, since I was not alerted to it. I really like dogs, but since I live in a condo up thirty-two steps I am deprived! You captured the perfect description of a loving pet in this 5-7-5 and even included alliteration. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

There is gentle comfort in your 5-7-5 offering...the image is amazing--of course as the movie promised "All Dogs Go to Heaven!"--Innocence and purity frame your theme and it is so comforting to read!--Karenina

Hi Mystery Poet,
We just lost our dog in June. Gracie had cancerous tumors all over hind end/hips. We spent a little over $1000 a year ago to remove them. She did well, but gradually the lumps came back. It was such a shame because she was still stealing the leftover scraps from the cats. She slept through most nights, and did her business normally every morning and evening. But she was 16, and that's old for a cairn terrier. She was almost totally blind as well. When one of the lumps began to ulcerate, we knew the time had come to put her down. It was tremendously difficult. The only thing that got us through it was knowing she would be in Heaven to meet us one day, along with her brother Willie. Some might question it, but I fully believe it won't be just a reunion with family & friends. God is too good for that. In fact, if our dogs weren't there, I would be deeply saddened. God provides every perfect gift, and He wouldn't hold anything from us.
I enjoyed your poem, but I have to be honest, too. Your 3rd line seemed slightly weak to me. However, I wish you much luck in the contest! Terrific artwork you chose!
Cheers

Hi Kimbob, I am so sorry for the loss of Gracie...I lost my Dalmatian (Domino)...he was 14...and I know the pain of losing them...they are big parts of our family....but like you I know I will see him again...we can only do so much for them...but when it is their time...much like us...all have to go...I know Gracie is with God now...jumping from cloud to cloud...and watching you from Heaven...all dogs go to Heaven...thank you for sharing your story my friend...and thank you for a wonderful review...Cheers to you as well...love xxoo

Dear Mystery Poet,
Just to clarify, I don't believe in clouds and harps. Heaven is going to be the most beautiful place you have ever seen. And no pollution. I'm not interested in living in a mansion. A cozy little log cabin will do nicely, right beside a gurgling brook, at the bottom of a meadow filled to the brim with wildflowers. That's where I want to spend eternity. There will be few jobs for harp players. But we all will have a job to do. The universe is huge. And someone will have to take care of it.

I like to think...Domino is happy...running with other days in Heaven...sounds like you have your eternal place all picked out...the perfect place to retire Kimbob...amazing...
