What a wonderfully playful sense you have achieved here with your word choices and the combination of a prancing kitten and dancing leaves. Quite delightful!

The inspiration was actually my sedate 11-yr-old cat... I watched her minding her own business and suddenly a flurry of leaves had her prancing like a kitten. so I danced that energy into a poem.

Cats are fascinating creatures, incredibly independent. I've always wondered why cat breeders didn't breed cats bigger than they do. There are some dog breeds that if stood on their hind legs, are taller that a lot of men. Some that weight over three hundred pounds. But, not cats. Any thoughts on this? Best wishes.

My thought on this is that I agree with you! I would so love a Sumatran Tiger for a pet... I would sleep curled up against him or her and the tail would be curled over me and one paw across me.... and I would be safe because it would know we were 'family'.

I looked up Sumatran Tigers, though about half the size of a Siberian Tiger, there are few left, and... there still a tiger. "Human-Wildlife Conflict:
Habitat destruction forces tigers into settled areas in search of food and where they are more likely to come into conflict with people. Human-tiger conflict is a serious problem in Sumatra. People have been killed or wounded, and livestock fall prey to tigers. Retaliatory action by villagers can result in the killing of tigers." However, if by chance you adopt one of these tigers, I'd be most curious to see how it turns out for you. You are welcome.
