I knew that fact about Klaatu and Gort. I thought it was Klaatu was the monster - at first. This is great science fiction, but much too short for this sci fi lover.
Best of luck to you in the competition!

Craig, This is a very well written story you have penned for the 100 Word Writing contest. Pretty neat you have exactly 100 words. You used great words and very good imagery from your descriptive words. Best wishes in the contest! Blessings, teri

Okay, so the name 'Mister Gort' really made me chuckle -- good choice! ;) :) And a great 100-word offering here, sir, taking the viewpoint of someone on the outside looking in rather than someone on earth actually 'hollering' it out. :) ;) One hundred exactly on MSWord ... Thank you for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) ;) Yvette

"Flash friction" - I haven't heard that term before, but I plan to steal it! Many thanks, Jenny :) Craig

Hello, Craig. this is a very unique write. It appears to be a sci-fi write, but you said in your notes you are basing it on your reading. You have done a very good job crafting this for the 100 Word prompt and I do wish you good luck with it.
All the best,
Melissa

Hi CD,
Excellent flash fiction and a great contest entry. est of luck in the voting booth.
My favorite line is "intelligent life minimal," obvious from the climate change denial that has been consistent for decades.
Nothing to suggest for you to improve upon.
Thanks for sharing your work,
Jan

Many regard Earth as entering its sixth mass-extinction phase-- the first to be caused by a species. ~ and a very greedy but shortsighted species. I don't doubt all that you say for a second. I read lots of such scientific books because as a mother, I'm constantly worried about what kind of future I'll leave for my child and grandchild.
This is a brilliant take on things, CD.

It is a scary time to be bringing children into the world... but then again, when has it not been? Still, in spite of all the threats of war and destruction past generations endured, I don't think it was on such a global scale as today. In any case, thanks for the thoughtful and kind review :) Craig
