The count for this came up at 75 for me... great job with this 75 word flash fiction project. If this is 11th to 12 grade level writing I must be st 5th to 6th grade. Who makes these decisions? Maybe I really do no want to know. Terrific work with this entry and I sincerely wish you all the best.

Sasha! So good to hear from you. You were in my thoughts the other day when the monsoon was heading your way. THanks for reading this flash piece, and, MY GOD, for the sixer! You shouldn't have. Really, LOL, you shouldn't have.
But don't ask for it back. A couple more reviews, and with your six, I might get an ATB.
I'll try to read something of yours today. I do love your style. It's just that I'm so freakin' busy.

Do "open" your stickywords mail, Barbara. It means a lot to my stats. I know you get a lot of email, though. I don't know how much I'm going to be here. There are two posts I want to get up, but my real energies are going into a non-fiction book I'm plowing the hours into.
Again, thanks Barbara.

Yes, all ants are pesky, but fire ants are hateful. Good job with your flash fiction story, Lee. Who knows how to properly count words? I never know if dashes count or spaces between words some say yes when a specific number of characters is required. On short pieces, I always cunt by hand. Good job and best wishes. Jan

I've always thought how the judges get the the last say in qualification. How unfair is that? I don't really care, I've won a number of member sponsored contests, but not ONE site sponsored contest, in five years here! But my rhyming, rhythmic poetry must be bad. Anyway enough of me, loved your witty "75" word entry, I also counted 75, but then I'm not the judge Jay. Well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

Bless you, Roy, for being here still, and for reading my little bit of fluff. Some better stuff coming ... I hope.

Hi, Jay. Long time between paragraphs. LOL How have you been? I have published third novel since we last spoke. What have you been up to in your absence?
I like this short short. Good luck in the contest. (I counted 76 words) No, I am bullshitting you, my friend. Take a pill. LOL Bob

Hey, Bob! Good hearing from you. I've been off FS for six months or so working on a non-fiction book angled toward the senior market. Looks good. You had me going for a minute.
-
By the way, if you are interested, a lot of folks on here have purchased my book directly from me instead of Amazon or barnes and anoble etc. They want personalized messages in signed copies. I would be honored to sign one for you, my friend. Just 20.00 bucks plus 3.17 postage. Let me know, Jay. :) Thanks, Bob
-
Name of the book is "Falling Up The Stairs" I think you followed some of it on Fanstory, didn't you? Bob
-
I followed all but a few introductory chapters. Remember, we had a real snit about one of my comments. I've forgotten exactly what it was, but we went back and forth a while, then we both had a laugh about it.
-
Ah yes, I had forgotten. Wouldn't t be wonderful if all people would let things go like us. LOL Bob

I thought we had a jumper on the Truxtun Tower for a minute there...if that were me and those were fire ants as happened once already, Katie bar the door. Stampede. Excellent 73-81 word flash fiction, Jay.

THanks, BJ. I'm glad I had you going in the wrong direction at first. Flash fiction is nothing without the surprise ending.

He, Jay. Fun little story. You had me convinced the guy was about to jump off a building. I know what you mean about the word count. I entered one of these and every reviewer gave me a different word count. So frustrating. I didn't count them but doing it three times, manual count is surely proof enough for anyone. Good luck in the contest. Good to read your 25 words.

Ha-ha, Adrienne, you are too funny. Glad you enjoyed this, though. I'll post one or two more then hop off again for a spell.

This is a well written piece with a humorous and surprising ending.
I certainly wasn't ready for the outcome.
Lots of luck in the contest.
Well chosen artwork.

The computer can be wrong. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery. Good luck in you contest.

Good to know you're still here, my friend. I know you had some health concerns earlier. Hope that's all behind you, now. I'm happy you enjoyed reading this.
-
My health problems are not behind me, Recently, I have been diagnosed with FRONTOTEMPORAL DEMENTIA (FTD?AKA---PICK?S DISEASE)
IT IS ONE OF THE 26 FORMS OF DEMENTIA, BUT IT IS NOT ALZHEIMER?S. I have a good friend and nurse (Virginia) who is helping me with my Health Problems.
-
I've never heard of Pick's disease, my friend. I am really sorry. Any meds that help? Surgery? Treatment?
-
There is no cure.
