The mystery goes off in another direction here as you reveal that Helen has a Pakistani mother and a sister, whom something has happened to. A bit of a surprise turn here. I wasn't really aware that she is that much younger than Charles. He seems to be keeping his distance though, wary of her, even as he is attracted to her looks and personality, her charming method of disarming him and romancing him. estory

    There?s quite a bit more to Helen than there may have seemed to be at first sight, but still not sure if Charles would be wise to trust her.

Cheers, Tony;
> truly an enjoyable and entertaining read.
> I see Charles had to have some restraints on his they do's and morals, as Helen seemed to make romantic advances and Charles was headstrong and even near the bed set no nearer to her as she bounced on the bed.
> I like how you incorporated the picture of the envelope of the address that was very helpful. And added a little bit about this technique.
> Thanks for sharing this, Tony, and take care and have a good one.

Hi, Tony. This book is really enabling you to sshow off your talents for writing prose. It is very well written. Your choice of strong verbs and great images propel the plot forward at an excellent pace, like here for instance:

"I walked across and opened the French windows to a cool night breeze. The lights of the city shimmered in the moonlight, and somewhere in the distance a church clock struck ten. I carried a cane chair out onto the balcony, to enjoy the solitude and tranquillity as I continued to turn things over in my mind."

And you have left us hanging at a very good spot to hold our interest. Bravo, my friend. Bob

Helen has rich history. I can't wait to see how this plays out. I am so glad Charles is a gentleman. I like that quality. You are doing a great job of writing.

Wow, Tony, this is another wonderful chapter. I'm really taken with the story, and I still wonder where all this might be going. And now a new and totally surprising side to Helen. I still think, she hiding something, though, but we'll see. All the best. Ulla:))

A very well-written chapter. A true gentleman never takes advantage of any lady when she is not all herself. New information and more background of her childhood and growing years.

Interesting information about Kalash. I'd never heard of it before.

I'm glad to see Charles is having doubts about Helen, too. Maybe it will save a lot of trouble and heartache.

    Thanks, Yvonne. I first read of the Kalash people in the famous Rudyard Kipling story "The Man Who Would Be King".

A lot more to the mysterious Helen that meets the eye it seems, and what of Miss Gaudin, and her hard to find parents? What indeed...

The Kalash are a minority indigenous group who have lived in the northern part of Pakistan for thousands of years. The women are extraordinarily beautiful." - opening speech marks needed here I think.

    The art will be in weaving these two parallel stories together successfully. Thanks for picking up the couple of errors in this chapter - now fixed. Congratulations on your placing in Story of the Month. All the best, Tony
