I understand the chance of winning the lottery is the same whether you enter or not!
Your poem is both humorous and touching. Saying a goodly sum will find its way to Animal Rescue expresses your generous heart. And the last line shows your sense of reality.
This work was a pleasure to read. It had easy continuity, flowing without a hitch. And it comes to a satisfying conclusion, though with your patience, it is too bad you didn't win! And I always enjoy rhyme. Excellent. Blessings to you, Linda

Who says I didn't win? OK, you're right, I didn't lol
Many thanks, Linda, for the lovely review.

I like this. As a lottery player myself, I can relate to the things you would do if you win. Hope springs eternal but keep the day job! Learned two new words, pennif and chook. Love this series, very educations. Thanks for sharing. Hugh

Indeed "dreaming silly dreams can be quite fun" and it's fun to see what the Speaker would do if he won the BIG lottery. His dreams don't differ too much from mine (including the check to Animal Rescue). I like how he admits he would not remain humble but "feel like the cat that got the cream." Finally, I like how you used the word of the day (one I did not know).

Thanks very much, Rod. I might wear a Cheshire Cat grin for a couple of days, but those around me would pretty soon bring me back to Earth in a hurry lol. Most grateful, Craig

So you win meat in Australia. That's funny. But back to your poem. Two points. One, I worry about you driving around in that truck. Secondly, if you win, and if you count me as one of those good friends, give my portion to the Animal Rescue as well.
I enjoyed your poem very much.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments, Debbie. Most grateful. Yes, we really win meat, which would be of no use to me whatsoever lol Cheers, Craig

We can but dream! I noticed on the TV this evening that the Powerball rollover has exceeded all past records. At one chance in two hundred and ninety two million, the odds are very slightly better than your poem suggests, so maybe that dream will come true! Good luck, anyway. I'll stick to chook raffles!

If I won Powerball, it would do me no good, as I'd die of a heart attack, and not get to spend it. Sadly, the chook raffle wouldn't be of much use to me, either. Oh well, I guess the truck will have to hold out a little longer :)
