A great review in that it takes the "orbital" view and puts things into perspective -- a wonderful approach! :) I've only been on the site for a few months so, I am really enjoying the variations in these reviews! :) :)

Thanx for sharing yours and good luck in the contest!

Hello Bananafish308 (don't tell me...it was your mother's maiden name, right?)

This is a well written piece, and very well expressed. As it happens, I concur with you and perhaps that is shading my sentiment, but I am here most days for the one event, the one moment that adds value to what I am trying to achieve either as the recipient of an idea or direction from another, or as the (possible) origin of an idea or direction which I can offer another (which is just as rewarding, if not more so sometimes.)

It is very true that any group of people will consist of as many types as there are members of the group - life would be dull if this was not the case. But this array of differences is, in effect, the source of all writing: FS being a microcosm (as you say) actually allows you to accelerate the process of interacting with people, I think, with the added advantage that these people are also trying to write in their own way. It is a bit like specialist bacteria being placed in agar jelly! We replicate faster.
Again, I think you have expressed yourself well and in so doing have expressed much of how I feel too.
I wish you well in the contest, but more so with your continued, positive writing.
cheers
phill

Phil, thanks so much for the kind words and review. I like your metaphor about bacteria in agar jelly.

"Bananafish" are from a J.D. Salinger short story that I appreciate.

Thanks again, for the review and encouragement.
