I think this is a very good write, Christine. a good stream of thought and a 60's feel to it. a couple rhymes are a little bit of a reach (respite?). and a typo is in the last line (too). but I don't care about that, it's great to read.........meeshu

Comment from Gloria ....
Excellent social commentary, Christine. I don't think mankind will ever stop warring, and by mankind I mean femalians too. In many ways the "gentler" sex is even more war mongering than the men.
Still there's no reason why a person can't keep hoping. Good for you in keeping up with the NaPo. Just a few more to go.
Great job my friend.

Hello Chrissie, this is the hymn sung by each generation in their longing for peace. And now you're singing it in, in2018, and it's tragic that we've probably never had so much war. It is very rhymical and precise, your rhyming not jarring, and the picture reminds me of something from the sixties??!! Not sure, just the peace sign, I guess. Thanks for the lovely poem, I enjoyed reading, Ana :)

Hi Ana, Yes I am sure many sing this and write about it perhaps our collective voice will make a difference. I have changed the image as I wasn't sure about it but appreciate your comments Cheers Christine
Comment from Katya
It's nice. My own reaction--and this is just me, don't feel offended-- is that the sing-song quality of the rhyme and meter tends to trivialize the content. That's too bad, because you are saying something important.
