This is a very interesting story about the Wild West .We watch alot of old westerns at our house,so this poem hits true to form. Well written and I really enjoyed this. Good luck in the contest.

You are a great story teller. I did not catch the category of this entry, but after I read it, I knew that it had to be the Share a Story Category. It is sheer entertainment, for the cow "pokes" and me. I love the alliteration: "wages weak for weary work" "love's labor flees when life is lived too loose." Such a perfect, polished poem.

I really enjoyed reading your poem. It is so sad and typical of so many businesses no longer viable.great rhyme and flow as usual. Worthy of six stars but I have none left. Sorry. Jen

I loved your story about the ladies selling themselves in the brawdy houses of the time, there is compassion in your truthful and honest story, great rhymes as always, very much liked, love Dolly x

This is a Share a Story in a Poem Contest Entree rich in Theme and imagery.
It flowed well and read well with no grammar issues as well.
Adjective Content was aligned well with Objective Content and Descriptive Measures aligned perfectly.
Good luck with this.

Excellent, as I've come to expect, and your mastery of alliteration, once more, is superb. Such a pleasure to read.

Stanza three, line one (and I'm not sure on the answer to this, myself), should 'west' begin with a capital letter? I wasn't sure whether this would count as usage as a proper noun, or remain simply a geographical indicator.

Great job, and it clear I'm going to have to up my game, for this contest :)

Take care.

-James

Great catch on 'west' James. I have capitalized the W as it should be and I thank you for the great correction and great review. I really appreciate it James. tom
