Great poem. The wind is a wonderful thing. Hurricanes, not so much. Here in Florida hurricane Matthew just blew through. No fun.

This was a really fun poem! Thanks for helping to introduce children to the wind and its many vagaries. *smile* I enjoyed this very much. My favorites lines were:
He says goodnight in a gentle voice
then tiptoes away without any noise,
Thanks again - and good luck!

Well done with this entry in this ode poetry competition, the repeated last line forms the base for the ode, which is continued throughout the work, it completes a fifth line in each stanza, which is an adjunct to a aabb rhyming quatrain. Beautifully written, slightly uneven syllable count makes the meter a little uneven, but the descriptive, articulate language, rescues it, and makes this an excellent work, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

This is an "Outstanding" Poem for Children.
You will have to visualize it with me.
A Group of Youngsters gathered around a Storyteller.
Each and everyone one plays a part.
He stays still, sometimes he runs free.
He hums along to their whistled words.
He makes the tree shake their leaves.
Leaves fall to the ground.
He shouts and roars with an icy blast.
He says goodnight in a gentle voice.
Then tiptoes away without any noise.
This makes for an action packed storytelling Poem.
An Excellent read with so many possibilities.
Very Well Done...Quantum Traveler...Phil.

This is a phenomenally beautiful and elegant children's ode to wind. You touch all of the seasons with your descriptions of wind as an invisible friend you cannot see. The poem is inventive and has a Western feel about it through your repeated refrain. Wind also represents freedom here. Thank you for sharing. After the contest, submit this to a children's publication. I wish you success.

Excellent. It might be irregular but it is lovely and well written. Any child would love to have this read to them. I didn't spot any errors. Best of luck in the contest.

This is one of the a most absolute best pieces of writing out there in my opinion. It is so free flowing and delicately embraces the reader with many smooches indeed. It truly is uplifting and so excellent.

Your ode is a delight to read aloud. It takes us through the seasons, following the wind's various moods. Children, too, have their moods and so that might be a point of identification for them. Nicely written. You avoid the wilder excesses of this wild, wonderful wind, and that is perhaps wise!

This ode will delight readers of all ages, but especially children who do see the Wind as a person. Wonderful personification; his multi-faceted personality is vividly described for each season. I especially like this imagery: when snow blankets the ground, he makes no sound,/in that sleepy hush he just hangs around. Your refrain also emphasizes why this is an ode. An exceptional poem with flawless meter and rhyme. Loved it! Rod
