You mean you went through all of that for NOTHING? You've got to be kidding me. I'd report that office to the BBB, I think. That's ridiculous! Thanks for sharing -- and warning!

The doctors want to check out everything for fear of being sued. It was my idea in the first place and the doctor did warn of consequences. He should have included dumb receptionists!

A well written display of frustration but you're their for Frank. My friend is a retired nurse and we often talk about how hard it is to navigate through the system. Her adult son has many medical problems and never asserts himself, so she is his advocate, especially for the right treatments, etc. I have to be proactive with my husband's care until I feel at peace with the doctor. My husband is a poor historian so I make sure I am with him the first few visits or if he has any significant changes.
I don't know how elderly people get through the system alone. Look forward to the"surprise of our life", keep writing. I haven't written anything for awhile. I did have my poem "Sweet Jesus Lullaby" put to music. They had to redo it because they
had a man sing it. His voice was nice, but singing about the virgin birth seemed
strange. I e-mailed them and they re did the song with a female voice and it turned out nice. I can send you some of the songs I had done but I would need your e-mail address and you have to have a computer that has an mp3 player. Most newer computers have them. My e mail address is mariannegorman167@gmail.com.
Kaydoe is my user name on FS named after my cat. I was saddened he died a few months ago. The neighbor said he was hit by a car but I never found the body. If you are interested in my lyrics/songs let me know. Most of my lyrics are Christian.
It's been fun communicating. Try not to get too discouraged and hope your back is on the mend.

Thanks ever so much for the six and for sharing your stories. I'm thrilled that your songs are being picked up. Good for you having them redo it with a female. Producers can be dumber than doctor assistants. LOL
I haven't a clue what an MP3 player is, so I guess my six year old computer doesn't have one, but I appreciate that you thought to share them with me. Maybe you can figure out how to put a recording on FS. Dean Kuch does it a lot.

I'm so sad about your cat, but if no body was found, someone just may have catnapped him. Might check the SPCA
although it happened so long ago.

It's been fun communicating. -- are you leaving FS? I'll add your e-mail address if I can figure out how. Everything seems so complicated these days.

Hi, Shari

= OMGoodness! Good for you. Glad you stood up to them.
= It is so irritating to see peeps go ahead of your appointment.
= I'd like to charge the doctor for 'time served' in his/her waiting room.
= My time is as important as their blasted schedule.
= Glad you got the bill sorted out, too. So frustrating.
= Surprise hook--hope it is good and not bad.

Thanks for the exceptional rating, Jax. It sounds as if you've had your share of frustration with the medical field. I think my reputation is getting around. My last two appointments, I only had to wait five minutes.
I promise the surprise makes up for all the stress I endured.

Good for you! I like your style. Sounds like me. I don't take crap from anyone. I embarrass Mark at times. He handles such things in a much calmer way, but we do handle them. Peopele are idiots. We're surrounded by them. Gotta fight back. LOL! :)

My daughter's view exactly. My son's a wooze like I used to be. His wife's a fighter though. I suppose it's good to balance things out.

OMG! You have got to be kidding. All that bullshit and he didn't need the shots after all? I cannot believe they put you through all that. I would have been furious. So what the heck was/is causing your husband's weakness and fatigue? This is turning into an honest to goodness nightmare. Great work with this. I am impressed you were able to stand your ground and get your bloody co-payments back.

I love finding my inner beast, but it only comes out when sweet and calm doesn't work. :-)

Well DANG! What a place to stop. You write wonderfully AND in a way many can relate to ... and if they haven't yet they one day will feel the gist of the medical system. Good for you that you won the co-pay battle as the whole thing is a set up made to increase stress at a time when people need inner peace in order to heal. Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.

What now? I feel your frustration. What will we do when we have to argue with a computer? Kiss our money goodbye. God help us. What happened then Sheri/ xx Nancy

Isn't it frustrating when you can't get a real person? I learned one lesson; never pay cash.

Oh my gawd, Shari! This office sounds like a cast from a sit-com...one that was cancelled after the first week of being aired. Your humor is contagious, because I had to laugh at the following references, which immediately I felt regret for considering your situation and rising blood pressure:

Next thing I knew she opened the door and called Frank into her closet. I followed.

I shied away from confrontations. Now, our roles have switched. I stole his
testosterone.

"No way." I snapped. "We're outta here. Not coming back--EVER!"

UnFRICKING believable...I suspect half of our medical problems are resultant from the stress of insurance, bookkeeping, and rude behavior!

I am anxious to learn the true culprit of your husband's weakness... Hugs, you are my hero!

I love being someone's hero. :-) I also like that I'm not afraid to fight battles at least where money is involved. LOL

Once, Frank paid three thousand dollars for burial spots. You can bet I called up the company and threatened them big time.
THat was fifteen years ago! Dementia starts early before you catch it.

Glad my inner beast makes you laugh.
