I haven't seen the aforementioned movie and don't plan to. Thanks for the heads up, actually. It sounds utterly stupid. But I think our kids are naturally changed a bit by the people they get attached to, hopefully, though - some of your daughter's good stuff rubbed off on the idiot???

It did. You'll find out later. Happy chapter coming up soon.

Unfortunately, there are sick people who find such things humorous. I am sure my son (who I am estranged from, would love it). I would vomit myself. I guess you can't pick your kids, their friends or spouses. Too bad. I would have picked better. Well written, but sad, my friend~Debbie

Thanks, Debbie, for checking this out. I can visualize frat boys getting a kick out of it. At least, the mean ones, the bullies.

I agree with you here, I would never show a disgusting movie to anyone and do not see the point of them. I am sorry your son-in-law did this, it sounds like he does not have any common sense. Too bad your daughter grows to be more like him.

Five years have gone by and he has improved. Nichole too. More about that in another chapter.

Jeff sounds like a sicko. And Nicole should have stopped him with you and other respectable people there. You never talked to her about it because you probably knew it would end in an argument. Let's hope they don't have kids. I imagine they'd end up in juvenile prison!

Nichole told Jeff when he proposed that no way would she go through childbirth. I suspect that subconsciously she knew he wouldn't be the best role model.
-
Well, that's one good thing, I guess. She's the only one who has to tolerate him, and that works ... so far.

Jackass, The Movie, was certainly a cult classic and nothing I would have liked my son-in-law and our daughter to entertain us with. I can understand your chagrin. I don't recall the movie "The Manson Family." Was the fact that Frank didn't remember it the result of early onset dementia?

Nichole did say that she recalled signs of dementia back then although she couldn't put a name to it. Early onset is when its starts in the late forties. I didn't note signs until Frank reached seventy. I give him two more years before it's full-blown.

You have brought this evening vividly to life with you able pen. I wonder what reaction you would have caused if you both upped and followed Lorenzo's wife.
This does not sound like reasonable behaviour to me for even in my younger days I would not inflict my favourite horror upon my captive in-laws.
A reasonable person would choose a general film all could enjoy or cater to their needs above your own.
I am not familiar with this film I think it'll give it a pass but I will look forward to your next instalment for that is much more interesting and worthwhile x

It would have been very painful for you. I remember my younger daughter, when younger, reacting badly to an animated version of " transformers", we switched it off Immediately. They say that one becomes desensitised to "way out" movies, and things like "porno" movies don't satisfy anymore, they need more obtuse versions, I think that's real actual "playing out"becomes more important. It must have been painful as a parent, well done, well written,, very brave sharing. No typos or syntax, well done blessings, Roy

I've heard that too about people becoming desensitized. As parents we should be aware of a child's reaction and vice versa. I so want to see that movie about the priests who molested children, but out of respect for hubby's devoted Catholicism, I'm passing it by.
-
I never understood why priests can't marry, it says if one burns with lust then they should marry, 1Cor. 7:9, I'm sure there would be less sex crime in the church, Roy

Problem is they are pediphiles. Not okay.

That's true,
