I find the rhyming pattern very interesting. I was married at 18, and when I see 18 year-olds now, I am stunned at how young that is. Thank you for sharing your bio. I'm glad you found the soulmate to share your life.

I like the way this poem progresses through the stages of a life which was obviously well-lived. Word choice throughout is imaginative and excellent. That last line brought a chuckle. Well done.

I love your message here- that we are able to choose how we behave and not blame poor behavior on how we were raised. Good for you for breaking the cycle of harsh parenting. Sounds like you had a good partner to help you choose well. Notice I did not use any explanation marks (no yelling) lol well done

I know where you are coming from with the hearing, lol, yes, we do tend to talk louder in case they can't hear us. This was a lovely story of how you turned a sad childhood around, and learnt you don't have to shout to explain the rights and wrongs to a child.
