Hi Kim,

So glad you put those reader notes there for us, otherwise I'd have assumed your space bar wasn't working (either that, or you'd been hitting the bottle - again!)

I like this (not that I'd recommend emulating cummings' style for every poem). The wintery wonderfulness with the promise of the oncoming spring is quite lovely. Even Lily made an appearance :)

Ready for the big thaw?

A final thought - do you think that is a ghostly apparition just left of centre, at the base of the tree line?

Well done, look forward to more.

Craig

    Hi Craig!

Shhhh... the bottle was last night, and it was only one ;)

Yesterday the driveway was mud and some ice... today we woke up completely covered in snow again lol Spring will come in its own time, no matter what I wish for lol I never really count on no more snow until we are approaching June. :)

There are two methods to my madness here (so far) for the order of the poets/poetry style... can you guess who will be next? ;) Or figure out my method? cummings was so popular, I've read several of his selections, but for the life of me, I'm not sure why lol What do you think?

Thanks for the kind words and complimentary review.

    *hugs*

Cummings aside, you've painted a warm, fuzzy image of what might be a typical winter experience for you in Fairbanks.

A most enjoyable read.

This is great and in a cummings way, he is one of my most favorite seeing I don't like playing by the rules myself. how sings of spring turn quickly back to winter. Great job on this.

LOL... and here I was hoping to correct ALL your grammar, punctuation, spaces... and you had to bring up cummings. I STILL am not a fan of the spacing, it feels like he just couldn't use a typewriter correctly. There is no good reason for bad editing. LOL
I read some old poems, myself, and wonder... well, why the hell can I not be made immortal when I'm dead (and why would I have to wait so long?) I'm not nearly as bad as some of these dead people. LOL
And I can certainly be just as creative, that's for sure. lol

I suppose it's all about someone touting you after you're dead, eh?
Listen, i"ll tout you, if you'll tout me, how's that sound?
If I make any money, it's yours. Just make sure I'm famous, ok? ;)
lol

I enjoyed the look out your front door and even though the spacing was a little irritating, I could and did see past all that, the second time around. I like the teasing spring winking yesterday. And yes, I saw several photos from friends still in Alaska... touting Spring, yesterday... never say never and never get too excited for the sun to shine! ;)

well done Kim, you always have a way with making me think and smile and think some more.

    Hi Cat,

You have me laughing with this review. I decided his April poem would be perfect to emulate (and yes, all the punctuation and spacing belong to that fact lol) Otherwise, I don't know that I could have pulled off his style. There wasn't a lot of rhyme or reason (if any) but it sure made him popular lol (Is THAT what we're doing wrong?)

I will gladly tout you! And you know Alaska, the snow could be here until June lol

Thanks for reading and commenting, I love what you have to say.

You paint a beautiful picture. The essence of Alaska is stitched like threaded words upon your canvass. I love what you have done here and adding Lily and the Northern lights are little gems. Again I am educated by your author notes and it is amazing to see a landscape so very different from my own. X

Love e.e. cummings! This is a nice tribute to him using his style. I am cold for your poodle barking herself forward out of the snow. Here where spring has tried to start also, froze last night. Winter is just not ready to loosen his grip. Well done. Please keep writing and sharing.

A wonderful poem, my friend. We already talked about the weather. It is 76 here today and I've been cleaning out my flower beds. Who knows, it could snow again, but likely not more than a dusting and the ground is warm enough my flowers should be fine now. Take care, my friend. I enjoyed this~DEbbie

I enjoyed your poem. Your words paint a super picture [even if there were no picture, I would understand the meaning of your poem]. The color scheme is perfect for a snowy day, too. Thanks for the info in the author notes. Your words/lines flow well and describe this amazing scene perfectly. Good job and thanks for sharing. [I would love to see the Northern Lights].

    Thanks, janny :)

The Northern Lights are an amazing sight... even after all my years here. Thank you for a delightful review on my emulation of e. e. cummings.
