I love this life affirming poem, which is humbling and true in it's message of self sacrifice. I felt 'better' for reading this. You've delivered a strong message which, although not always followed, should always hold true. Our empathy and love for others is paramount, and should not be beset by selfishness and greed. Charming piece of poetry beautifully depicting its theme!
Impressive wording, smooth and captivating flow from top to bottom with lovely rhyming scheme and lively imagery.
These lines are especially noteworthy:
"For love will walk that extra mile

Interesting and nice. This subject always gets to me. Christs story is the ultimate story of love, betrayal and resurrection. The cross symbol is so strong. I wish the cruelty and bombings would stop. What is going on in this world

Couldn't agree with you more, Roy about self-served wants ... don't write them up in lights.

When genuine people do good deeds they feel no need to brag about it as they did it for the act of generosity not to receive accolades.

The old Golden Rule do unto others as you would have them do unto to you is still the best guiding principle for behaviour.

What a humbling write this was, Roy. I'm not a biggy on religion, but I enjoy reading about your faith. You have an eloquent delivery and invite the reader in, as opposed to preaching to them.
The selfless deed that was done on behalf of us is an important one to remember. Unfortunately much of the meaning is lost with all the egg giving etc so it's nice to read things like this. If only more people would be giving of themselves...this world would be a much more peaceful place. A wonderful warm Easter message and good luck with your entry. Have a great Easter.
