It's seems to me some of the people with the greatest natural abilities are not aware of their talents. A massive well done to your daughter, your pride is clear comes through your words. I love the rewards that a child wants in comparison to what adults require as recognition.

Congratulations to Keirry. It is always heartening to see a young poet recognized. I would love to see what she wrote, but know that is not possible with the contest ongoing. Her outward response to winning may be that of a typical teen, but you can bet these successes will boost her confidence as well.
I suggest one edit for paragraph 5: her dad and me. But the event is recounted well, and I know you are proud of your daughter.

Nothing promotes self esteem more than recognition for a job well done. Each success your daughter accomplishes should continue to give her more confidence and of course what could add to the satisfaction more than 75.00? Your story is well told and obviously comes from the heart. Good luck to both of you as writers.
