this is an excellent write, danpald, you did an excellent job writing this essay about the uniqueness of mary. I know mary herself needed a savior and that came from her Son upon His death and resurrection. I enjoyed reading it.

I can agree with everything you said except I believe that Jesus had brothers which are mentioned in the Bible. I know there is a controversy because of everyone with Christ was believed to be called brother or sister. You did a very good job and I enjoyed the read. Shirley

Thanks for the comments. The term used for close relatives are brothers and sisters but does not mean of the same parents. That there is indication who the mother is of those said to be the brothers of Jesus shows that it definitely was not Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Her being touched so uniquely by God the Father made it not possible for her to have any other child besides her remaining a Virgin all her life.

At the beginning of the Christian movement, Mary was considered to be one of the god heads. Three hundred years, later, her role was reduced to the Holy Mother. This is very well written.

Thanks for the comments. I am sorry to disagree with you but there never was a time when Mary was considered one of the god heads in official Church teaching. There was need of terms being clarified and understood regarding the God Head and the Trinity but Never was Mary considered a goddess. Mary was always considered as a human creature needing to be Saved by the Redeeming Act of Jesus the Christ. The manner of that Salvation was finally declared in the 19th Century with the title of the Immaculate Conception. The belief in Mary being Saved by Jesus has always been part of official Church teaching. Many times even today Mary is written about in a manner that is not precise and gives close leanings to a divine status. This comes because in reality the fullness of Salvation will be like a deification, making into gods, of those who are saved. We will become Deified through Jesus the Christ in Mary's case that has already been realized by her Assumption into Heaven Body and Soul. That does not make her part of the God Head nor ever will any more than when we are Deified at the Resurrection in the End Times. The God Head is Eternity itself whereas we all have a beginning but will be eternal from that point onward. That is Mary's condition and was always the belief so NEVER was she considered part of the God Head.

With respect, many of your paragraphs need shortening with clear line spaces in between, as the current mainly block format is rather off-putting to read.

I realise God is the basis of your statements, but you repeat his name countless times, so maybe think about that - or ignore my advice if you think it's rubbish - no problem.

Best wishes, Ray

This is a wonderful explanation and I enjoyed reading it. It has cleared up a lot for me and has given me a better understanding of scriptures. This is something to keep in mind when reading the Bible. In reading I am supposed to look for any areas that might need a tweak and I have found one.
It is not by her own power but by the power of God but rightly given to her because of the unique relationship she has with Each Divine Person.(This sentence would read better if you replaced the word 'but' after power of God with 'and'.)
With my being the reader it jumped out at me whereas the rest of your story was smooth throughout. Great job.

This was very informative, to those who may be unaware of all these facts about those surrounding Jesus. Good descriptions and religious facts-well written piece of prose. Couple of things, Para 6, only then can she have (can=is able to)/only then is she able to have.........Para 10, It is then that....... Enjoyable read. faye

I believe too, that Mary is a very unique woman favored by God. But there was not any verse in the Bible proving that the she was declared the queen of heaven. It was only in the Catholic doctrine that she was given a special place in heaven. It is said it is only through Jesus, the Son,that we can reach the Father, no one else. But thanks for sharing, and God bless.

Thanks for the comments. You forget the Book of the Apocalypse and the Woman. Actually there are many other places from the Old Testament as well as the New Testament but this was not to be a theological paper but only an essay. So according to your logic here it is only in Catholic Doctrine that Anyone is given a Special Place in Heaven. I agree since it is only the Catholic Church that has its origin given In The Bible by Jesus Himself when He placed Peter as the Head of His Church. As the Essay also says quite Clearly Mary is only Saved through Jesus, the Son and it is only through Him that all of us are saved. That does not mean that there are not unique privileges some have more than others. Who else has the unique privilege of a Direct relationship with each Divine Person of the Trinity?
That is what the essay is about. That also gives therefore good reason for the privileges given to Mary by God and Catholic Doctrine has learned from prayer and meditation on the Bible and Tradition.
Still again thanks for the comments and the rating. Keep me in your prayers as you are in mine.
