Simply beautiful and so inspirational, debi.

"Yea, frolic with the chorus of the morn,
the meadow lark, the chipmunks, and the sheep,
the rainbow formed of trees, and flowers and plants,
the shining dew drops and the passing breeze."

Bravo! Bob

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for the lovely review and generous stars. I am happy you found the poem inspirational. Thank you for pointing out the stanza you liked.

I see you have another chapter out. I will drop by to read it soon. I don't read your work or Dean's late at night because then I can't sleep. I am sure it is another great chapter.

It's actually a compliment that your writing creates vivid images and my mind cannot rest. Not necessarily scary, sometimes I try to figure out what might be coming next and cannot get to sleep.

Your entire well written and described poem to me confirms the celebration of the Lord's gifts to us right down to the smallest creature. God must have thought that all of them carried equal weight to be considered worthy of his creation.

Hi debi - this is a lovely descriptive blank verse with good iambic pentameter maintained throughout. No end rhymes, but line 2 of your stanza 4 shows an internal rhyme displays/array. Otherwise very well written celebration to the Lord for all the gifts of nature. Warm regards Dorothy x

    Hi Dorothy,
Thank you for the wonderful stars and the encouraging comments. I appreciate you catching the internal rhyme so I could fix it. This is my first blank verse and I had a hard time not making end rhymes so I didn't even notice the internal one. Thank you so much.

Yes, blank verse is not as easy as people think - avoiding internal and end rhymes is tricky - you did well. Dx

Debi;
-this writing seems to me the requirements of a blank verse home whereas I found no rhyming internally or externally and the rhythmic meter is iambic pentameter and the cadence, timing and tempo help the reading to be clear, fluid and easy.
-Good use of enjambment which is the running out of a thought and concept from one stanza and line to the next without a syntactical break.
-Clear the imagery and message to is given from this poem is one of enlightenment, clarity and inspiration.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you forever.
Alex

I enjoyed reading your poem. Beautiful imagery celebrating the God created universe. Good use of alliteration with nocturne - night, whirling waltz and dew drops. Very nice.y done.

Blessings,
Janet

The Lord created heaven and Earth, the animals in the land. From the great universe to us, a small part.

I love how you centered the poem on God. It was a great poem that made sense it was easy to understand and follow and the picture you chose went well with the poem.
