Oh no! A bad moon is rising! Is it cancer?

I'm NOT going to like reading the next few chapters, I just know it. You broke my heart when you told us about Bobby.

I got your family tree worked out again. Anne, half sister, much older than you. Barbara, younger sister, free spirit, mother of Bobby. Dee, mother's sister, felt son was supposed to take care of her in her old age, son died tragically, cut off from son's family (don't remember if he had children or not), bitter,...

I do hope your cruise was relaxing after that ordeal at the hospital. Issues with like that can other people to get sick and have other problems. You are strong in mind though. I think bringing your mother back to live with you was a good idea. You already had a place for her and she was happy there. And you could met her medical needs. But..... something is about to happen. No, no, no, no... hoping for better news...

Foreshadowing this time is quite somber. You are very good at that, and it keeps the reader reading these episodes. Maybe we should call this episodic literature. We have epistolary literature, which I quite like, at least the nineteenth century version of it. The French write it still today.

Your style reminds me of a novel I read in my French classes: Oscar et la dame rose by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. If you are interested it is available in English. Very good book, short too, but it will make you cry. It did me, and I tell you are setting me up for good cry.

I see no need for changes nor corrections. Just want some hopeful news but I got a bad, bad feeling....

First all, it's not cancer, although the doctor said he found a few slow growing cells somewhere, but nothing to be concerned about. I'm guessing that at 86, we're all bound to have a few. You done good on my family tree except I wouldn't call Barb a free spirit--too much of a perfectionist. Bobby didn't like it when she visited and rearranged all his do-dads. I wrote the title and author of the book mentioned and check it out.

As for my story, it'll move pretty fast the next two chapters.
    Some happy stuff too.

It seems like every family has their Dee. Of course they always assume they know best and all they do is make the problem worse. Good chapter and I'm really curious as to what will happen next. I have a feeling it's not good, but it has really got my attention. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

Thanks, husky. All families have their problems. A friend of mind is going through hell with her younger sister now. Glad you're still interested. The next is really tough.

I just love your wonderful sense of humor, Shari, and it obviously made Mom feel a little better.

Boy, you and Frank used to take a lot of cruises. I bet you miss that.

Oh, dear, now what was wrong?! Another good one. Hugs, Lou

I'm all cruised out, Lou. They keep the inside of the ships so cold, I have to wear a sweater even to dinner. Thanks for mentioning the small injection of humor. You're the first.

This read fine, and i love the private joke of the tombstone reading, maybe we should all put clever sayings on them instead of the usual, it would make goung to the cemetery interesting.

What kind of shenanigans was Dee up to when you were gone for three days? Bobby must have overheard something if he is so upset. I don't trust Dee at all. She tries to sabotage everything that you do. I hope your mother didn't have a relapse, or the stint didn't work.

None of your guesses are right. This time, Mom has to take the blame. Go figure. :-)

This was a good chapter until the end of it. I was happy to hear your mom being happy and joking around. The image was very clear. So was the image of her sister sitting with an evil stare in the corner. I'm worried about what the problem is now. I hope it's nothing major. I will be watching for the next chapter, my friend. Best wishes.

Always with respect,

Oh, no. Don't stop there. We're all worried now. Hurry and tell the rest of the news, even if it's bad. I'm so glad she can come back to live with you. You are way too nice to that horrid sister of hers. I'd have told the old bat off!

The next chapter is up now. It stressed me out big time to write it. Will be glad when it's finished!

Your Mom is out of danger and Barb your sister and Bob are visiting. Dee continues with her bad attitude. I think she wants to be in command but your mother leans more towards you. This may be why Dee is acting the way she does . Bringing your mother to live with you may irritate Dee. There is a problem with Bob looks like he is paralyzed and his condition is getting worse. Very interesting reading and I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Barb's son had a neurological condition and never could run. In college he finally had to move from a cane to a wheelchair and finally a scooter. The doctors thought he had muscular dystrophy and predicted he wouldn't live past forty. I wrote his story in another book that I haven't found time to release yet. He died at age 46. In this scene he's 38. He and Mom were very close.

Oh nuts, a cliff hanger! I want to know now what's going on...the only thing I'm sure of is if its bad it will somehow be blamed on you. Your Auntie reminds me of Nurse Ratchet....or Mommy dearest. Sweet. :)

LOL. Good comparison. Her daughter would certainly agree. You'll find out next week what happened to shock and frighten me.
I couldn't be blamed. I was out of town.

So amazing that the doctor could do something like that. Your mother's problem sounded pretty serious. Interesting comments about it being just the imagination on the part of your father. You really get across your conflicted thoughts about going on the short cruise. Other family members were there for your mother, so it sounded like the situation was covered. You always leave us in suspense about what will happen next. It doesn't sound good. judi

Trust me, it's not. What happened would have happened even if I hadn't gone on the cruise. This time Mom is to blame!
