Teresa;
+ Imagery is quite distinct and clear and very exquisitely expressive and demonstratively and vividly descriptive throughout the writing as it explains how to milk a butterfly so you can have butter???
+ Enjambment is used quite well in this palm it's the running on of a thought an idea or concept from one verse, couplet or line to the next without a syntactical break.
+ Poetic assessment and summary: Chuckle! Chuckle! I found this poem very humorous and actually quite funny and while reading that I was really taken in by really trying to believe in it and that it could be actually done! Chuckle! An excellent poem.
+ Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always and good luck in the contest for this is quite interesting and a good contender.

This is so unique and clever a little write about a lovely little critter.. though I don't think milking one would be a heck of a lot of fun. LOL.. Nice flow and I had a smile as well while reading.

I cant believe you couldn't find a picture of someone milking a butterfly? Lol
Love the whimsical tone that it kind of flitter along while I read it. 8-)

Well, you've milked this one for all that it's worth! Truly a bit of fairy magic at work here! I've heard of putting buttercups under the chin to see if you like butter and my grandfather had a wonderful way of describing small things, as being no bigger than a bee's gaiter button! Keep on churning them out; the whimsicality of this is delightful!

I hope that no one takes your recipe to heart. Monarchs are already in decline. Love the humor in this piece, the parenthetical ( umm, fly) and finding those tiny tests, milking them with tweezers. Very funny.

    Thanks - just wanted a fun and unique approach to the prompt. I love butterflies but get tired of reading all the fluffy 'beautiful butterfly' poems;)

    So do I. So do I. So much so, that I repeated myself. Good luck in the contest.
