JEEZ! I finally dug this one out (with great difficulty in view of my lack of tech and site navigation skills) as requested, Shari, and I don't recall being notified of it by the site.

I only recently watched the movie again, and I thought Donald out-starred and out-danced the brilliant Gene Kelly.

'"He's forty years old--" Mon continued' - do you mean, 'Mom'?

Yes, 'Dr Hamm' would be unfortunate.

You express your mother's excitement extremely well, and there's some fun dialogue as usual.

Excellent.

Cheers, Ray xx

Caught the error. Appreciate you made the effort to find this and your detailed remarks. I used to have a copy of the movie, but loaned it to a student. Never got it back. Sigh.
    Shari, xx too.

No, I didn't get this chapter in my inbox, Shari. I did however, get a notice for a chapter for this book, but received a chapter from your other book, which I thought was strange.

This is a good chapter. Did your sister really believe your nephew was actually "flawed"??
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Interesting. Yes, the posting did get screwed up, I found out later. Barb would never use that word to describe her son, but she was a perfectionist, and found it difficult to deal with anything else.

This was a cool chapter the way you went through the stages of finding out about your sister's new hubby. Mr. Hamm, huh. Oh well, my last name is "Bacon." Poor guy probably went through hell in school - I know I did.

I have not read this part of the story before. This is my first time. I enjoyed it though. I'm looking forward to the next chapter to come.

Always with respect,

I just posted it tonight. I forgot about your last name. Wouldn't it be hilarious if someone named Hamm went to your school at the same time at you?

Boy, have I got a laugh for you, my friend. I went out with a girl named Dorothy Eggs - no lie. We only went out one time and it was only to get our names into the high school yearbook. We did it too. Our pictures were in the normal place, but they were also on the social page with the caption "Bacon and Eggs Sizzle." It was just what we wanted. HA! I wish I still had that old yearbook, I'd send you the picture. We got a lot of laughs out of it for sure.

Thanks for sharing such a delightful story. Shame on you for not clipping it out and keeping it. Sigh...

G'day Shari. No this one certainly didn't come to my inbox. I don't know about this marriage, there seem to be a lot of men who have lived with their mothers and never married that end up expecting their wife to be the same as their mother. I am no expert, but I can smell disaster. Cheers and well done, Fez

MY feelings too, Fez. Hard to compromise after being single so long. Trust me, they had issues.

Thanks for the alert that this message did not get in our message box. Tom doesn't know what he's talking about. I've been following this book and wouldn't have missed it. I read all my messages/stories. I skip some poems as that is not my favorite format. Sorry you have to deal with that mixup.

Tom said I had to put more money on it to get the readings. Completely ignored my plea that fans didn't get notification!

Mom is a very forgiving and wise woman. I'm glad they got to talking again. I wonder how marriage to a nerdy mama's boy ended up? I'm guessing that it didn't last. :)

You'll find out. In the meantime I notified Tom that my fans didn't get the message! I went from 26 reviews to 5. Go Figure.

Enjoyable, as ever.

This marriage has all the hallmarks of a disaster in the making. I shall look forward to reading your ongoing episodes.

Follows on well, and entertaining.

Best wishes, Alison

This made for an excellent read,
I was taken back by the beginning
as it reminds me of someone I know
dearly. Family members can either make or
break you. I think you did a
great job at telling this story
in a raw and "real" way and that is respectable writing.
I'm glad you shared this piece.
Thanks

Your mum was overjoyed, aren't you? Grace and love are amazing, they always overlook the deepest flaws, my siblings turned up at my mother's sick bed after not talking to her for years, I was originally the "black sheep" my wife reminded me to honour my mother, otherwise I might not, praise God for spouses! Very entertaining and smooth work, it was written extremely well, I was engaged all the way through, great lesson for us all, well done, blessings, Roy.

Thanks, Roy. Your wife was right. Although I have to wonder what Mom did to make everyone spurn her. Still, it best to make amends before passing over.

She taught me that relation ship is more important than principle, my girls are like their mum, blessings, Roy.

This is great .. What a precious mother to be excited for her daughter after four years of silence
Your sister may be getting her life in order..but I suspect there will be rough sailing as well
God bless
