This was an excellent poem. I envy you the talent you have for such composition. I love the style and the title. I like that you gave such an explanation of the style of poetry as I am learning as an amateur poet and I took notes. Great job!

Thank you MSJV Clarke. That's why i put it there, to spark the interest of those adventurous enough to try one of their own.

You are welcome.

I like this format as the repetition i effective in highlighting the theme of nature in this piece. These lines welds the other elements of the poem well:
"Faded season full of starkness,
Beauty rests in what remains."
Well done, Tom.

Al elements of the Roundelay have been satisfied. Never trie one myself but this flowed well.
Good use of repeated lines
I think the contrast is what makes this season so beautiful, straight from that blank of winter to a blast of colour

Treiscgl, The reflections in the photo and reflections from your poetic words in "Season of Starkness" is simply lovely. I'm like you. I love some parts of each season, but spring is always the first one of each year that I'm the happiest to see, because the long winter in Michigan is finally over! Smiles. Carole

Thank you Carole. Yes, me too. Michigan and Minnesota are close neighbors.

My goodness--your photograph looks like a watercolor! Thank you for adorning your lovely Roundelay with the striking image and reminding us about the requirements of the form in your notes. I enjoyed the repeats and rhymes plus your capturing the "raw elegance" of early spring--you had me in the first line with "dark less" . Many cheers- Joan

Thank you Joan. I appreciate your comment on my photograph. I used a technique called vignette.

You know, I am learning new forms of poetry all the time but some just escape my ability, like this for example. I guess my head doesn't work that way but your one clearly does. I really liked this. The clear crisp imagery/ uncluttered and beautiful, in my opinions.
Yeah, liked it.

Thank you MGM. When you think about it. It's actually easier than you think.. You only write 10 lines that then becomes 24 lines with all the repeats. Glad you liked it.

Yeah but its getting them to blend and make sense!! There is a significant skill in that.
