That was very kind-hearted of Doctrex, and to learn why he 'deserted' and how dedicated to being a soldier he really is. Well written, my friend~Debbie

Hi. Well you know how much I like Zurn. I mean, really, someone would have to have a heart of silcon shit, not to like the man. And, please , please fins a way out of this mess. We need him, we need him to be our reminder of humanity.

You may have to wait a while, but I think you'll like it, Padumachitta. Thanks for patiently being here for the story's unfoldment and for me.

It broke my heart. . . "On the other hand. . . eyes hungry for hope.
They both rapidly. . . show immense relief. Maybe: They gasped, leaning against each other, their legs wobbling.
Try to avoid using heard, smelled, saw, or felt.
Good chapter.

Had to duck out for awhile but planning on catching up today! My job has me flying so much I cant remember what state I'm in half the time!
OOps must have missed something - he jumped in a like to die and now he is back
Zurn seems very simple - but he does see clearly!

You might have missed the last few chapters of Book II and they are seminal chapters to the development of Book III. What kind of job has you flying, Maria. Sounds intriguing.

This was a very heartwarming chapter. I loved how Surn was able to recapture the respect and love of Doctrex. I was afraid Zurn would go do and do something like this, running after the brothers, but I didn't see him being court marshalled for it. I loved the moment when Zurn turned the question on Doctrex. It was so revealing about his character. You relayed well the struggle he (Zurn) has every day. Wonderful stuff!!!!!!!!!!! Gretchen

I enjoyed the skilful interview with Zurn, enhanced by the wisdom of Doctrex. And I'm glad to be back with the troops. You have laid a good foundation for the next chapter, Giddy

Zurn is so precious. I love the humanity you drench your fantasy with.
I enjoyed this immensely Jay. There is a kindness and innocence that is heart warming. A very good read. I don't have any sixes yet but this deserves one
God bless

Jenny, I was thinking about The Trining today and trying to figure out what genre it truly fits into. There are enough fantasy elements that it has to be in that realm, I suppose, but I think of yours as more thoroughly embracing that genre. One thing for certain, I REALLY appreciate your kind words about what it means to you.

It's genre is pure Jay

Awwww, thanks, Jenny!

Great chapter my friend. Can see the care coming through from Zurn's friend and superior Doctrex. Be good to see where this is all gong. Zurn appears a bit of a simple fellow and I can see he was not really military material. Just good buddy kind of fellow.

I enjoyed this fine episode, a change of pace from the previous ones, you're writing is great Jay, I must say, I can't remember one that I didn't really enjoy! I wonder if this means that Zurn is "off the hook," it's great that Doctrex has time for the individual, it humanises him, well done, Jay, great episode, blessing, Roy.
