Nice poem about theses messy, birds! We have them at every lake we go to. They are still fun to watch , especially when the dogs try to chase them back into the water. I guess Geese just love MN.

Thanks C Dow. This is fun. Some golf courses hire dogs to keep them away.

A very descriptive and self eexplanatory series of rhyming couplets .
The chosen picture captures the moments you describe well.
I understand your sentiments well.
We have whistling ducks which breed well, have a high pitched whistle and eat the grain and fresh planted seeds and grasses constantly.
Over here many birds are classified as protected species so eradication or reduction requires a special permit which beings it's own set of problems.

Hey, I'm back. And I see you're still going strong. Yeah, I believe your wife is correct. It's not getting worth upset to the extent your blood pressure rises when your contest entries go unnoticed, or not appreciated. All of us realize that that some lousy works sometimes win the contests. It's a good thing the "FanStory Committee" isn't involved.

this is very well written, treishel, you are right, they are noisy and the winter brought them here to squalk day and night. I enjoyed reading it and love the picture.

I guess most large birds are noisy and messy, but I love watching them fly. Nice use of rhyming couplets. This was an enjoyable read.
