A great write. An eerie story. I agree with you. Sometimes, it's best NOT to know what the future holds and it raises questions of free choice and controlling our own destiny.

Thank you, Ted. I wouldn't do it again. There is a reason we don't know, and I think it is a blessing. What's in the future might drive us crazy. Look for the best and be prepared for the worse, just in case.

I think it's scripturally sound to keep soothsayers at bay, Leviticus 19:31, says specifically avoid them, I don't think God wants us to seek out they future unless He want us to know especially, it's safe not to know. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thanks Roy, I felt uncomfortable doing something I'd been warned against, but sometimes we get talked into things. My friend left worried about the fact, she would lose her husband. I never heard the outcome of that, but I know everything she told me happened.
You'd think if she was that accurate she would living in a mansion instead of a shack.

I went to one when I was very young. She was an old lady living in what was really a shack, and charged very little as I remember. Everything she told me came true. It was unbelievable. For one thing, she said I'd have twins. I did have twins, but I miscarried them. I haven't been to one since, and won't ever go again.

Thank you for the review and comments. I'm sorry you lost your twins. I had twins and they were quite a handful. I won't go again either. I isn't good to know too much.

I don't know if I believe any of that fortune teller, card reader, and coffee ground readers stuff. But I have to admit that an old girlfriend and her mother went all the time, and surprisingly, the teller seemed more right than wrong. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. I think it is a little unsettling if you really believe it will happen. I think I rather be surprised.

Very nice story, very nicely told. Good work.
As, I'm writing this, time has past, and I might as well admit those last two predictions did come true. - Too many commas
Best wishes.

I would love to visit a fortune teller who uses the cards. I absolutely love your story and the fact that all Lenas predictions came true. Iy was an interesting read and well written.

Thank you Linda. It is fine when they tell you good things but my friend went home worried that her husband might die. Since we lost touch I don't know, but she didn't need that worry.

Haha. I like Carolyn, who had a boyfriend for every need. Card reading is fun and a couple of the prediction did come true. About 33 years ago, I went to New Orleans and had my Taro card read for five dollars. It was very good and I believed it since I was in my 20's. Now after 33 years, I did see she was right about at least one thing now and the other is slowly coming together.

It's all in the card.

Well done.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I found it fascinating. I am very cynical but have been to several fortune tellers over the years. All con artists but I still keep an open mind just in case. Great story. Best wishes. Jen.

Thank you Jen, I those that practice for money get carried away with trying to fool people into believing what they say. If they had any talent of being about to read the cards, they've probably lost it it. The ones who seem accurate are those who do it for fun on the side. I think we likely better off not knowing. When it is bad, the worry would make you ill. I really appreciate the review.

When I was a boy, I visited an old black woman who could do the same. She told me I would marry a girl named Mary Anne and I brushed it aside. I had forgotten the situation until years later when married my wife. Named Mary Anne. LOL. Yep, the devil has information too but he can only go so far. It is called witchcraft. Jesus said, "Whatever you believe, so be unto you." Life is amazing. Good one, Beth. Yep, Evan was a cut above the rest.

It was eerie and I wouldn't do it again. I don't understand where it comes from but we've been warned to stay away from it. If you get a chance I have a short story you haven't read called "It's more common than you think." It is about to expire. I need one more review.
