High time for a sssssseries bonussssss! This is yet another rich depiction of an episode in your adjustment to married--now working--life. What sleazebags you poor working women had to put up with before the #meetoo movement! Heartrending about the repossession. Amusing about the lewd stories. Cheerssssss. LIZ

Thank you, Liz. I'm so glad you like my series. I really appreciate those beautiful stars. After the wedding last Sunday, I went on a trip to the Smokies with the couple. They postponed their honeymoon until the dad from Korea and their guest from California went home and took eight of us on a little trip so I got behind in writing and reviewing.

I hate when my favorite authors re-post something and I haven't read it. GRR I an happy that I caught this one and read it. Thank you for giving me a second chance.

When the owner realized that he'd been a bit hasty about letting her go (Omit 'that')

Don't feel bad. I love it when one of favorite reviews doesn't pass up my story because she has already read it. Thank you so much for a great review.

This chapter is a great read, very well penned and captivating as we're dragged along with this characters good intentioned misfortunes. I felt like this was a glimpse into the normalcy of American dysfunction.
Excellent writing in my view.
Oh, I saw one little word missing.
In one of the paragraphs it reads: ", but I no idea how to do billing."
Just missing the 'had'

You do so well at reminding us how even though things were difficult and sometimes almost impossible when we were young, we did make it through it. I enjoy reading and understanding that we all face trials in life, some good and some bad.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. Those days were for the most part good, but young people have a lot to learn when they leave home and some of those lessons aren't fun, but it is an adventure and we survive it.

It's makes for very interesting reading- an account of real- life moments in the life of a young married couple as they begin their journey- the candour is wonderful-

Well, the fix was mine so I should keep the star for myself . . . Nahh.

The Christian college, which I attended, had many students who were preparing for the ministry. My new boss was a sharply dressed businessman, who paid little attention to me.

All three of these commas are excess to needs, and can be pushed back up into the keyboard.

Grady, the other male employee, did appraisals and repossessions of the furniture or cars or whatever the customer put up for collateral on the loans

Missing period at the end of this sentence.

Narrative flows; not a fun time, so this is less "fun" to read, but still very well written. Fix the typos please!

Thank you again Joel. I do appreciate the review, and I'm so glad you caught the punctuation error. I have fixed the problems. If these was the reason for the lower rating, I would appreciate if you could see it as a five star.

Its amazing what you had to endure in order to make a living. What you went through would be the stuff of a writer's imagination in this day and age.

I felt a twinge of reality regarding my life as I to worked for a loan company (briefly). Back then, no matter what degree(s) you had, business often didn't take this into account.

Take care,

Ray

Thank you so much for the six star review. I appreciate your comments. You are right. Not many businesses cared whether you had a degree or not. Women, especially, were not treated as they should have been. My stay with the loan company was very brief.

HI Beth

I did find this post! Meant I read back-to-front. I enjoy reading about your life. You are writing (or have written) a great memoir of your early years. Isn't it terrible when you secure a job only to have a boss who is more interested in 'other' skills? I think most women have encountered at least one of these! I cannot fault the clear, precise writing. It makes it a joy to read your work. Marion.

Thanks for reading this Marion. I'm trying to figure out how to put all of them into a book. There are eight on nine of them in this series so far. I will keep adding for a while. Yes, when I entered the working world, I encountered many guys who made advances. I was so naive it took me a long time to figure out how to cope. No one filed sexual harrassment charges back then. We just endured it. I really appreciate your encouraging comments.

Sometimes the job is great but the people you are working with makes it an impossible situation for sure. This is a very good piece. god loves you and I do too.

Thank you so much Evelyn. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment on this. You are so right. It is often the people that make a job distasteful.

They sound like two nightmarish jobs. Especially the first one. I had a situation like that once. I was successful warding the boss off and when I finally quit the job to come west he said he would always remember me as the one who got away. Cringe, cringe! LOL Nancy

Thank you Nancy, I really appreciate the review and comments. Back in those days, there were no rules against sexual harrassment and any young person was considered fair game. At least now, girls can file charges if they don't like what's going on. I wonder if many of them do.
