'God complex under constructon' - Great satori.
Oh, this is just biting and clever enough to move the reader beyond a gut response. It offers the two perspectives in a very refreshing way, Shari.
Well done, as always! Bev

Thanks, Ellen. I always strive for this poetic device. Makes a difference for sure.

Interesting approach to Bible Bashing. I liked the part about this guy not having time to answer the "rave reviews" on the content. "God complex under construction" is an excellent way to show that his views are incomplete. Like a building under construction. Problem with most of the Bible Basher types is that they have no sense of humor and are determined to force their thinking on society. I see that your reviewers have varying interpretations. To me someone who bashes is one who opposes. You've had some interesting takes on this poem. judi

Haven't I though. But you, my dear, got it right. Actually, this was aimed at a humorous writer who won a contest and never answered any reviews except the first one. That and the post made think he was arrogant. Hence the poem .

I think we do have some examples of arrogance floating around. I'm sorry I didn't ame the "rave reivews" connection to FanStory. I usually don't read others responses to review, but I was interested in their interpretations of this poem. judi

Hm... me thinks I know what may have inspired this satirical piece.
I love the alliteration with: content, complex and construction. That really drives your point like a dagger to the heart so to speak.
And, if there were any doubts, the photo you chose emphasizes the strong emotion behind your message.
Nicely done,
Lou

I suspect you do know, and I think you gave him a six. One reviewer had it right when she said it was long and he made his point long before the ending. I should have thought of that, but didn't even read the whole thing. Guess I'm not as open minded as I thought. sigh.

Perfect pairing of poem and illustration
excellent use of alliteration throughout
excellent proximate rhyme in basher/answer
I love the play on words in complex under construction :-)
An excellent satiric look at those who are a tad too annoyingly zealous in spreading the Word ;-) Brooke

Well, in this case, the writer bashes God and the stories. But everyone seems to interpret is as a Bible thumper rather than basher.

Terrific alliteration throughout this SO clever write, Shari
Maybe he/she didn't HAVE any real answers.
Brilliant play on 'complex'.
Thanks for the cynical fun.
Happy Sunday (don't forget Church) LOL. Ray

You just had to get in that last line, Ray. The writer is an excellent one, but after reading this, I defanned him. I'm not a zealot, but I don't think it's right to bash someone's religious beliefs, But I'd never call Buddha a bastard.
-
I agree, Shari, though I think it's quite right to 'bash' the bastards who damn me to hell, just because I'm unconvinced by a book of fiction. I know who'll burn first...and it WON'T be me, as I'm going with a fire extinguisher. :-) x
-
Good idea, Although I don't believe in Heaven of Hell, just higher and lower dimensions of live after death.
-
I'm certainly more swayed to your idea, Shari. Will you mind calling me 'Sir' when we get there? Haha. x

Very thought provoking. I guess if one is busy bashing bibles they won't have time for anything LOL great humour poetry and brilliant selection of the very funny artwork:-)

True. As my hubby would say, "If you're talking about me, that means you're not bad-mouthing anyone else."

I do. I love google images. Even better, if I go through my own photo albums and find something there.

What freedom of speech my queen? Anymore there are no freedoms unless one conforms. But to what or whom? They conspire daily to take our preciously lost freedoms. Thank you for being som frank.

Thanks,Erick. I deleted the notes about freedom of speech becasue people focused on that instead of the poem.

That is what the poem is about my queen. At least they read your notes.

I am glad you selected this piece to be under satire poetry. The sarcasm you used to expose some people's good intentions to gain followers to their faith. But we must remember people can pretty much say what they want. But it us that have the choice to listen to these people. If no body where to listen then they would have nothing to say to the general population. So whether it be a Bible thumper or anyone else who believes something and want to inform others of it, they each have their right to say what they want. Satire will always take its own stand against what is already been said or done.
