this really strikes a chord with
me as my parents were foster parents
to 21 children from the time I was 3 until
I was grown -- many of them came back
when they were grown to meet the people who
helped give them a secure home during a
particularly tough time in their lives
I hope your foster mom will be able to see this
it would mean the world to her

What a touching tribute to your foster mom. Maybe more than one foster mom out there will be able to receive your encouragement and praise. My favorite line is, "Kept me dry throughout all the rain," because it says so much through a simple metaphor. Your author notes add extra value to your poem.

What an absolutely beautiful and heartfelt tribute to a lady who obviously meant something special in your life and was there at a time when you truly needed her. She surely sounds like a special lady and definitely an unsung heroine! Best of luck with the contest.

These hero stories are incredible. I can't believe the wonderful things people do, and the everyday heroes out there. Was the adoption a good one? Do you love the parents you were raised with?

Not to the level the foster mother did. Did you see this woman again? Memories really interest me, and I asked because I wondered if the age you were with her has anything to do with how you felt about her.

I love it! Good there were no errors. No typo's and nothing to change as far as i can see..

Even though the meter is kind of all over the place, I did not subtract any points, because the emotions expressed in this poem overcame the slight deficiency. If you could work on that and make it consistent, I think that would raise this piece up even higher and make it truly exceptional.
