Oh my goodness, Beth, this is hilarious! It's a good thing you had an understanding and patient husband. Mine would never have understood why I couldn't cook! I can't help but wonder why you suddenly decided you wanted to get married when you were on the road to an education you wanted. Great read. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Judy for the great review. I thought I was never going to be interested in getting married and when we started dating I told him I had no intention of getting married. He knew I didn't cook and that didn't bother him. After a while, I couldn't imagine my life without him. I never regretted getting married. I finished college after I got married, but I decided the working world wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be.

I'm glad it all worked out for you and he didn't go into it not knowing your domestic challenges. I guess that's why it lasted.

Deare me, you didn't have a clue, did you? I'm still laughing . You write this with great skill and a wonderful sense of humour. I loved it. That landlord sounds absolutely awful. Can't wait to reading on. Ulla:)))

These earlier stories were more amusing they the later ones. When I get back to the other story with my kids it won't be as much fun to read. Thanks of the review. I'll keep putting mor this earlier book out.

The landlord sounds like a real jerk, and addicted to females. He had no business showing up in your apartment uninvited. And, his sock fetish speaks loudly about his warped mind. His wife should never have been in your apartment when you were not there.

Tupperware in an oven turned on? That is asking for a problem.

No nits found.

Bios make such interesting stories.

Seems you learned several lessons during this time.

Thanks for the review. Those were the days when I seemed to be doing everything wrong, but I was young and life was still an advernture. I hope you found some humor in this zany tale of my young married life.

Your chapters have a little of everything in them and your touches of humor are added like a fine spice. I enjoy every line and always look forward to reading the next. Thanks for sharing. Wish I had a six.

Thanks Rec. The ones I am renewing have a bit more humor than my later chapters. I thought it would be fun to let the later members of FanStory read them.

I am out of six, but it deserves one for sure. I am still laughing. So typical for young couples and glad your landlady smelled the problem. Good one, Beth.

Thank you Chuck. Those I wrote over ten years ago had more more humor in them than the ones I've written recently. Our landlady and her husband were both nosy. One year of them was all we could handle.

Hi Beth, was intrigued by your title, and was entertained by your rhetoric on the difficulties of the newly wed wife. Your story was very interesting, a smooth read, and moved forward fast enough so I had to see what happened next!
Can relate to many of the difficulties, outrageous landlords taking advantage, so many things hard to learn all at once and the inevitable kitchen accidents.
When my wife and I were first married, she could cook two things, spaghetti and boiled chicken. Taught her the few things I knew from my bachelor years and bought her a set of McAlls Cook Books. She went through them, bought more cook books and started watching the chef shows on TV. She is now a gourmet chef and it's hard to keep my weight down.
Cheers, irish

Lucky you. Your wife learned fast and became a gormet cook. I got pretty good at cooking over the years too, but now that I'm alone, I mostly use the microwave. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked my story.

Such nice adventures you had in your early years of marriage, ha I had experienced some of them many times, but really my husband was by inside, he eats food even if not good, and that's for encouraging me. But step by step, in knew one thing for good housewife, and that's the sacrifices from your time and inner desires. By that house will be constructed strength, and what you got at least Love from all your family. Such nice story.

Oh, Beth! Thanks for telling me about this one in your portfolio. It reads like my past for sure. The first time I tried to bake bread, it turned out beautifully. However, the butcher knife got stuck in the middle of it when I tried to slice us some for supper! I also managed to blow up a pressure cooker filled with chicken and blew a whole in the ceiling of my rented apartment! How did we ever survive?

Loved the reading. It is filled with subtle humor, realistic portrayals, and I found no errors. God bless, Beth.td (Deborah)

Thank you Deborah, I thought you might be able to relate to this one. I was so naive and unprepared for being life outside my parents home, but it is lot of urn remembering back to the way things were.

It sure seems funny now, but back then, I was forever ducking my head! Great piece, Beth.

I think you got a peach when you married Evan. According to your lack of domestic preparatiion and practice, he had a lot of patience.

I've done a lot of batching. That was early in my life, because I married at age 37. It happened much later when m y wife became disabled. So, I've experienced some of the goofs of housekeeping you mane. I've burned some stuff in kettles. Mostly I've cooked vegetables fresh in a pot of stew, and succeeded.

You're humble in not spreading on about being expert in housekeeping. But you've made a great contribution with your good writing.

Thank you. It is great to hear from you. Yes, I got a peach in Evan and he's still a peach after 57 years. I'm not quite as bumbling as I've made myself appear. All these things happened but I've mainly focused on the silly thngs and learning experiences that we laugh about now. There is another one still paying called Growing Pains. I hope you read it to.

Haha... Tupperware affair. Thanks for sharing this hilarious story of newlyweds. I bet you progress much after the honeymoon season was over.

Thank you Belinda. I did some stupid things when I first got married. I've learned a lot but I'm still capable of goofing up. At least, no one has complained about my cooking lately.
