Another great poem. It described Miles Davis wonderfully with all kinds of imagery. I could almost hear the blues playing with your words.

Sue, Congrats on being one of the 73 people along with me who came in second in the haiku contest. LOL
kinda blue with the birth of the cool - love your free verse tribute to this jazz great and the effective ways you nail his description. Brooke

Ain't no one as cool as Miles. Good piece, here. My only complaint is about the ellipsis, just because I hate that punctuation mark, but hey, it's a great piece all around, a piece that has the rhythm proper for such a tribute.

Sue - I was never a big jazz fan but I did enjoy Miles Davis and his smooth trumpet blues. Well done with a nice descriptive of his look and sound. Charlie

Great tribute to the master Miles.
I love all his artistry. Just the
other day I was playing "Sketches
of Spain." "Kind of blue," is still
my favorite. My soul needs music
every day.

NOW I get your last line...the only one in this fabulous free verse I didn't get. I especially liked 'blowing horn and minds.' Well done! :)

I don't know him Sue but you've certainly done a good job with your tribute. Are you going over to the other side, by chance?? Are you giving up your meter and rhymes for the wonderful world of free verse, lol!! I love how you've structured this with your internal rhymes and near rhymes. I especially like the phrase: 'with riffs of bliss'. Great imagery too.

Hugs

Roisin

Love how you fit those songs into this beautiful ode to that great jazz musician! They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Thanks for sharing this with us!
